yep - ouch indeed! but when you see the organisation (and costs) that go into putting one of these events on, you will see where a lot of your money goes. IM rarely come cheap

GO on go on go on!!!!!
I think this clash's with KJ's off here's wedding if 11th but still very interesting.
I'm assuming this is organised by the same people who organise our local tri - Mumbles tri. They are organising this weekends 3 practice events too and the ironman wales domaine name is registered to the same lot too.... http://www.activitywalesevents.com/
I mashalled on the Mumbles tri this year and have particiapted in another they organised. I know a good few people who have also done their events and they are always very well organised. DH is umming and ahhhing over whether to dive in and do this instead of outlaw again...... A few people are tempted just on the way the other events are organised Hopefully it'll live up to expectations!
Not that I've heard of BB!! Though I think some people complained the sea was a bit cold for the swim at mumbles this year
As for me doing it...... well now I can see through the tears of laughter.... No no no no...... 7 Months after having a baby I might just about manage the Swansea 10k!!!! Might I said!!!!! Go on Barly you do it and I'll come hold your towel and you Cake I'll make sure there's welsh cakes and bara brith for afters with a pint of Brains SA!!!
I'm already signed up for Regensburg and still toying with the idea of doing Outlaw again next year for a warm up. This would be a step to far even for someone as stupid as me.
Was just hanging about in case it was in June and then would have been interested. Might pop down and support/feed station if it doesn't clash with stuff. Pints you say?

'This would be a step to far even for someone as stupid as me.' Can't believe you reall said that!!! You've got to now!!!! Goooooooo onnnnnnnnnnn
I've just emailed Regensburg to ask them to take me off the start list. I will only get 75% of the entry fee back, but hey ho. Doing IMCymru will still be much cheaper than going to Germany becuse I won't have to pay for hotels etc. So excited about this!!!!
I just did the Wales Swim (first part of the Long Course Weekend) and thoroughly enjoyed it. From the press release the swim course for IM will be different as it says it starts from Tenby South Beach and today was run from the North beach. This is probably due to limited space for T1 around the North beach/Harbour beach area? Sea temperature was fine - warmer than the air temp in fact! Local support seemed very positive, well very vocal! I hope the new IM event works out well for the organisers as they have certainly put a lot of effort into this weekend.
Rain, Midges and Flat iron Bru I am deffo up for that Lee!
I am so tempted by IM Cymru it might have to be 2012 although MRS RBM has asked me if I am going to do it so I may go for a later entry depending on funds and whats happening next year
Comments
Anyone any idea what sort of elevation the Wales sportive course has?
I guess I'm hoping it's a flattish course
*wonders if they'll ever do Ironman Scotland....*
Well funny you should ask...
I've heard that Ironman Portobello might be happening next year
Sounds and looks Fab!!
I haven't swam in the sea yet but i reckon there's a bit of time to practice before Sept
