Lets hope that the website is not overloaded and crashes, although they have outsourced it to runbritain so it should be okay !!!!!! 9.05am the site will have crashed no doubt
Everyone knows how quickly this race fills up so I would guess there will be 2500-3000 hopeful applicants sitting at their computers on Saturday morning! It still dosen't say whether it will be first come first served or whatever.
Nothing at all on Runbritain yet. The race director will press the button at 9am then there will be a "slight" delay before it goes live. Keeping everything crossed until Saturday.
sorry folks I was a bit late updating the information but pleased to see in my absence it has been filled in already!
Old Timer can you not get someone else to do your entry on line if you leave them with the relevant information. Can't imagine that they will ask for anything other than has been required in previous years on the "old format"
The race is already listed under Events on the runbritain website but the entry system on line is not yet live.
I see there is a new organising secretary named under the race details so I hope he does as good a job as the last official did of the organisation of the race.
Just a thought - I have not used the runbritain site to enter races before. Do you have to be registered on the site before you can use the entry system. I am so it doesn't matter to me but others may like to register pre entry time just as a precaution
sprouty76 It's one of the few HM races in the north at that time of year plus it's a flat course and excellently organised and marshalled with superb start and finish facilities in the York racecourse stand. It's not every race that one gets to go upstairs to a huge lounge area via an escalator!!
sprouty - basically it's the course I think. Flat, fast and PB material. Plus a good pointer for those targetting a Spring Mara. To put it in context - my BM time from last year is over 5 mins quicker than I've ran any other Half. Yes part of that is the timing of the race and my comparative fitness level, but the course is a quicky and you have lots of folk to run with to drag you round to a quick time. I hope to get in for 2011, but won't be too gutted if I don't. I'll just target another Half as part of my Mara prep
And speaking of which - Artie, how's it going fella? You doing much? Are you Marathon bound in the Spring again? If so, which one mate?
Does anyone know if you have to be registered on runbritain to be able to enter events? I've just tried to sign up and it says my email address is in use (must have signed up in past) so I've done the 'reset password' but then it says it doesn't recognise the email! Clearly I can't win on that one...
Hi LS21, I am currently "on the bench" with a broken toe, picked up in a bizarre and embarrassing DIY accident so I am unfortunately not going to make Snowdonia which was to be my next marathon.
And to add insult to injury, I weighed myself this morning and am have put on half a stone since the toe injury.
So for now, no spring marathons, just some targeted weight loss!
h&t, I experienced similar problems. Don't follow the runbritain link, just go directly to realbuzz.com (did you enter FLM on-line the first year the webiste crashed? - that's where my login comes from) and get your account username and password reset. Then go back to runbritain and then validate your account. The reset email from realbuzz took several hours to arrive.
Thank god I sorted this out today rather than tomorrow morning, so thanks to Torquesteer for the heads up

(Are local clubs getting their usual favourable entry?)
How do we know it is 9am, is this a ploy ?
It is 8am ?
Who knows.
OT- your post actually brings up the discussion that people who are not online are disadvantaged, this is clearly an example of this.
BBC are running a theme about getting on line and the pro and cons of been online.
From a personal point of view it does save money and is quick to order stuff
It says on the Knavesmire website that it's 9am, so I doubt this is a ploy!

BUT - it can be cold!!!
Thanks for the heads up about registering Torque! Good luck to all on Saturday for entering. Although only good luck once I've successfully entered
Hoping I'll be able to register myself and my boyfriend as the poor lad is working and he'll likely be up a ladder rather than anywhere near a PC!

Hope you're well anyway
Hareand tortoise
go into Events and then down the page Events Diary then type in Brass Monkey in the search. It will take you to here. Hope that link works
