Halloween Hellraiser 9

I ran this for the first time last year and really enjoyed it, 9 miles over Cheshire's rough terrain.  The club, South Cheshire Harriers and marshalls made me feel so welcome and did not mind my slow pace of running.  I liked the part of the race when we ran up to the church and through the grave yard.

Must get my fancy dress sorted out, there is a prize  for the best costume image

Any one else going to give it a go?

Entry info can be found on the South Cheshire Harriers  www.southcheshireharriers.org.uk

  • Hi, I am doing this one along with friends, what is the 'terrain' like as I will be running in road trainers, is this wise??

We aim to wear some sort of halloween costume..image

  • I really like this race. Done it twice. Hopefully I can make it 3 times this year image

  • Hi Deli, there was a short part on the road but most of it is run over fields.
  • Oh bugger! well I haven't got time to purchase off road shoes and run them in, so trainers for me.... they are ruined from the warrington half marathon (in torrential rain) anyway
  • Does everyone run in fancy dress?

Dont want to turn up either over dressed or under dressed

  • Juleswill1 last year I just ran in normal running clothes and club vest, photos of last years race can be seen on Bryan Dales web site www.racephotos.org.uk
  • I've entered this today, looks like a good race....just hope my twiglets will hold up as I'm running the Beachy Head Marathon on Saturday!image
  • pre-entries well up on last year  and I will try and persuade the race organisor to see about a prize for best fancy dress in the main race   imageimage
  • I ran most of the route this weekend, a few good muddy bits but nothing you couldn't manage in older trainers.

Don't forget the special beer as an incentiveimage

  • I really want to run this and have entered, but am still in quite a bit of pain from Beachy on Saturday...shall go to the gym and do a club run and see how I feel at the end of the week.
  • well some of the marshals went over the course this morning and the first half is quite muddy and wet in places.

There is now a prize for best fancy dress in the main race, so look out your costumes    image

  • What a great race, a big thank you to South Cheshire Harriers, all the marshals, the race sponsors and Mike Cutler for yet another fantastically run race.

Bryan Dale has started to upload the photo's of the race on his website, www.racephotos.org.uk .
