Well i'm injured but stubborn so WILL be running! Really really enjoyed my first running of this race last year and this year I have a score to settle with the time! Also my parents are both running so it's going to be a bit of a family affair!!!
Hi Jason If your place has not been taken yet I would really like to have your number. Could you please call me asap or leave voice message on 07745287436. Thanks, Lee
It's like swap shop on here!!! i'm looking forward to this one now - did 10 miler yesterday and felt good no aches today so bring on the helsby hills!!!
Is everybody ready for this? I'm excited despite the lack of training. Longest run for this has been 10 miles - eek. I usually like to get up to 14 for a half mara but the snow hampered me a bit so am a couple of weeks behind schedule - ah well, I guess most people are in the same boat.
It's a great race to start the year off with...especially if you have a spring marathon!!! Good luck those who are fit and able to run (or even if you're not fit but able)....see you at the start line
Raring to go.......was in two minds last weekend whether or not to do a 10k race as I would have kicked myself if i'd got injured and was unable to do Helsby but have had a big boost to morale by pb'ing by over a minute at the 10k............that said, my longest run for training has been 12 miles on new year's eve but did Snowdonia Marathon in October and only really built the mileage back up now!!! (How people do multiple marathons back to back is beyond me!!!!)
I am just about ready, done over a dozen 10 and 12 milers and one 14 over the past 15 weeks. Been suffering with a bit of backache over the last few days, but should be okay.
I was gaining a good level of fitness until the snow fell and I lost about two weeks of training all in all, that seemed to knock me back - amazing how it takes months to gain fitness and days to lose it.
Doing a 4 miler over Bidston Hill tonight and a flat 4 on Thursday then rest until Sunday and pig out on pasta. I have gone on the wagon for a week in preparation, which is probably tougher than running 13.1 miles - especially on Fri & Sat night. Plenty of beer lined up for next Sunday evening.

I'll come along and wave everyone off then have a few beers in the clubhouse whilst waiting for the finishers.

haha BB, also on the wagon. I plan to fall off on Sunday afternoon though Good luck with your 2 remaining training runs.
Andrea - yes I agree, some nice weather would be good (anything has to be better than last year). And gratz on pb last week.
Gutted! I've done my calf in running in the dark and missing a massive pot hole!
I've started this thread to sell my place if anyone want's in?
