My first race since a marathon on new years eve did a 18 mile training run last sun but struggled with tight hammy's done some fartlek this week so should be good to go
I have not run this event before and i am defo not a semi-pro but as long as you feel you can do it you should go for it!!! It sounds like a good race (with a nice goody bag) and there are not many half marathons around this time of year
I will also be plodding along at 10 minute miles not planning on breaking records or getting any injuries at this one
PLEASE HELP! my husband and I would love to run this race has anyone got any places they would transfer / sell? please call me on 07745958427 or email me frangie73@yahoo.com. Many thanks Ann
I too intend on being amongst the back markers Still carrying Christmas weight and only in the early weeks of marathon training, so viewing this as a training potter with some company
Would have thought it was a bit late to change start position . Whats all that about ? Hope its not too congested . The old start was pretty good , had a full main road to jostle for position .

Hey frodo it may bring u bad luck or something that you might not even finish the race!!!! I'm a bit weird like that
Am excited for this now it's so cold and foggy though might need some fog lights to put on our backs stop us all crashing into each other since we are all going at 10 minute miles ha ha!!
Ovenglove - Hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow am sure you will be fine it's great that you are giving it a go!!
Managed to acquire a number for the race this week, not looking forward to it as not raced since Central Lancs Half and had a week of all inclusive indulgence last week...
Otherwise I'll buy one on the day if they're nice.
I believe Frodo will be modelling one on the way round (she'll be the one Mr P.s family will be pointing at)
Can tell its the eve of a race ... just took dogs out and right knee starts complaining, then climbing over stile right ankle joins in, now just getting out of bath left calf decides to join the party !!
Anyhow, bearing mind it's likely to be Arctic, whether I wear the race top or not, you'll never know, cos you won't see it under the five other layers. So there.
I reckon its running tights and a long sleeved top... maybe the running gloves and hat too! I've never raced in my tights before but 13.1 miles is a long way to be a bit nippy!

No semi pro here - slow half for me. I'm using this race as a London mara training run so 10min miles for me.
I remember it being lots of fun in 2009, spoke to strangers running at my pace for most of route - everyone very friendly
