  • This thread is well quiet but its new years day, awkward time, family time! Will do it with you tho, what time shall we aim for? x
  • imageimage A race where my granny lives so can see her and might be able to get a lift off richie. Time to work out where the new years parties will be this year. image
  • Cake i told Cinders all i know bout you yesterday, you can come wi me dude!
  • image What even the cross dressing and cheese fetish? image

Best mates had a little boy this year and can't get out much at the moment assuming the plan is to go round there's New years eve will check out what they want to do and get back to you. Matey very interested i this race both because sounds like a good way to spend the day and got family in kettering from mum's side. My parents were even married there and don't go there enough these days. image

  • Go on Cake, do it!

Now tell me more about the cross dressing and cheese fetish or is that RB? image

  • image mmmm cheese. I'm up for this just need to check out a few things first.
  • Sorry Cinders nothing unusual about me! Looks like me and Cake might be fueling up on crackers with cheese on way down though, i do like cheese image
  • image Mmmm cheese nom, nom, nom, nom. image
  • Best not fess up myself about dressing up then image

    Cheese, yum!

  • image New years plans confirmed. Will talk to RB at park run and see what his plans are and if a lift doable. Basically consider me there. image
  • Nice one Cake image
  • Nice one Cake, yes of course you can have a lift. We'll make some plans when i see you!
What kind of time do you two get round a HM?
  • image At the moment for me about 2 hours. But assuming will be slower for this one. I might be hung over on this morning. imageimage
  • Only might Cake?

I'm def over 2 hours. Just have a cup of tea waiting lol
  • image Well I might be still be slightly drunk. image New years eve me and some very close mates make a point of meeting up. Very much doult I will get any sleep on new years eve. Will make sure I stop drinking at say 2 or 3.
  • image And I bet you still go sprinting past me!  RB, what are your plans?
  • Entry fees are steep compared to other races of similar distances. It's not clear what extra you're getting for your ££s. The Folksworth 15 is £4 cheaper for affiliated runners for example.
  • Actually for a half the price is isn't cheap but fairly common. I wouldn't have been surprised if a race like this was up to £25. Key thing is that there are medals at the end which are normally one of the most expensive things after possible road closers.
  • Wonder if the date has pushed the cost up for Police/closures etc.

Well I'm now entered, knowing my luck I'll get Number 1 !!!

  • image Shouldn't have made a difference cinders it's a flat fee for the road closer. Might mean if there are any paid staff they can expect to be paid more but wouldn't expect that to raise the cost to much.
  • Ta Cake, I'll admit I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes of putting on a race.
  • image I know a little bit but wouldn't say I'm a expert. Do some other stuff along the same lines through. imageimageimage
  • Hi,
Could anyone tell me about the course, is it flat and what's the surface like. Not up to cross country for this distance, hoping for tarmac..
  • Not sure MA2, from the description it says laps, park and undulating!  From memory the park itself has plenty of paths.
  • Hi, i have just signed up for this, will be my third half and first with a bit of off road, i plan to 'first foot' my parents and aunt afterwards, i'm sure they'l be delighted to feed a tired and sweaty runner!
  • Hi George, I'm sure they won't mind lol image

I've not done any off road before so a first for me too.

  • Everyone keeps saying off road, getting me worried its a 13 mile cross country race, Any shoe type recommendations...
  • Sorry MA2, no idea.  Did find an email address so have mailed to ask about how *multi-terrain* this will be.
