We've gone from blue sky, to white out, to blue sky again in the last hours. English weather is just bizarre !
OK, let's shoot for 2/3 lap run Saturday, meet 0930 for 1000 start, on the dubious basis that:
- The trusty(ish) beeb says it will get crapper later in the day - Those of us who did get leave passes for tomorrow dont have re-apply for Sunday - Watching people stumble about with a hangover is mildly amusing - Ferret can't make Sunday - We can gossip about Jaffa, Tommy, and all the other buckerers.
I'll SMS the laydeez who are aleady at the pub to ensure attendance tomorrow. PM me if you need my mobile !
Weather is certainly bizarre, I nearly got snowed in to the local church at the school nativity / carol service this afternoon, we were only in there for about an hour............and then road down to the school was treacherous.......it was quite amusing seeing the kids dressed up as sheep / donkeys sliding all over the place
I'm still looking at the weather as it is supposed to snow some more here and it's laid nicely. I have a fair drive to get to RP just for a run........
Dustboy.....will you stop ignoring my texts. Don't make me slap ya.
Subject to www.lookoutofthewindow.com tomorrow morning showing unexpected snowfall I should be there- method of transport t.b.a. I'll drop Kanga a SMS if I'm going to be a no show.
Sorry, can't make it now. Bliddy christmas getting in the way and got to see family, speshly as I haven't posted their cards or bought presents yet and they are going away on Monday. I thought it was Friday. Oops.
Have fun - gutted I won't be there, unless I can get away in time catch you all up on your last lap as I'm only doing the one lap.
Yeah, sorry dude, was looking forward to it big style.
Schmunks. Am sure we will meet soon. So, this business of no man surviving a hug with your chest then......
Does it show that I keep going back to the titty thing?
Enjoy dudes, really sorry that nature pissed on the parade a bit.
BTW, I am hoping to go on a MTB ride from Newlands 27th Dec, 09.30, nothing severe, hour or two, up the track opposite, burgers & chips after etc. If you fancy? Well, I should be there anyway.
we had fun! Well, mostly.... the snow started just as we set off, and there followed 7 miles of basically having snow blown horizontally into our faces. It kind of stung, and made my eyes water, but other than that was quite pretty and funny. Kanga has a pic of us at the finish (just the one lap, oddly enough lol). And then tea and cake, followed by a very slow drive home. In the time it took for us to run one lap, about three inches of snow built up on my car!
And we managed to resist moving the car and filling the boot with snow of the muppet BMW owner who parked next to bhflyer, and left his car key badly hidden in plain view on top of his tyre. Eeeeejit.
Glad you enjoyed and glad I wasn't stoooopid enough to come and join you.......I may still be making my way home with all the snow we have had today. As for a hangover........not me! I was a good girl, just incase I was stoooopid enough to come and play.
Good decision really - bit different for us lot living within a few miles. Ferret did make it up on the train, but he hasn't reappeared since I dropped him near the station....
Home again, showered, shopped and ready for tomorrow's X-country. Although I pity anyone buying a ticket from Raynes Park ticket machine and requiring change, most of my money was rather gel coated. Ditchy- thanks for the lift. I managed one slight skid and a couple of ABS moments in the 3 mile drive from the station to home, so probably a wise decision not to take the car all the way to RP.
The British Military fitness people did ask if we wanted to join their session which was starting just as we got to the cafe.
Shame the weather (or was it desire for cake?) prevented the full on bollock bruiser (another time perhaps??), but a nice run nonetheless with good company and RP was looking good in the snow. Heart rate definitely higher on the drive home than during the run! Enjoyed watching a car slide out of control into a bollard at the entrance to my road.

Weird that we all opted for tea and cake isn't it?
Glad you got back ok.
