I know this sounds like a daft question but how frequent are the 'frequent' water stations mentioned? I've struggled with some mid summer events on hot days which just give out occasional half cups of water, i just don't find it enough. I'd love to give this a go though.

Have decided on my 3rd one to take it seriously and follow a plan. My 16 week plan starts on the 11th. This one is usually too hot for me to try hard but this time am going for a P.B.

omg that just reminded my last year I got attacked by a goose think it was a goose frightened the life out of me had to wait for the runner behind me as was afraid to pass it.....
lol............
Just dont get between them and the water....its their escape route.
I'm now entered and having not done it before I'm really excited.
Have looked through the posts I'm setting myself an extensive training programme based around the one small bridge on my local canal, coping with the torrential rain that some of you have mentioned, pints of beer after all training sessions and getting hold of some form of geese repellant.
Let me know if i've missed anything....

The heat can be a problem in any race at this time of year. Just bear in mind that this race can be tougher than one might expect (especially on the Achilles tendons!)
A lot of people worry about the tunnel, but it's really not a problem so long as you remember to take your shades off. It's easy to forget your wearing them... or is that just silly me?

Hey Lads and Lasses! I'm glad to announce me and Pino are in yet again, but hopefully no swimming in the canal this year
This my all time favourite race, primarily due to the afternooon session with you guys that makes it so enjoyable, the one in the P&P that is!
Myself, HTA and pino are currently in the middle of the Phoenix Challenge. We ran Taunton marathon last Sunday, Brighton Marathon yesterday and we're running London marathon this Sunday.
We then take on Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Mount Snowdon in 24 hours on 19 May followed by running 90 miles coast to coast along Hadrians Wall in June.
Hopefully this will be good prep for this great run along the canal??
