I forgot to give it a sensible name, so it's Schedule1. I'd be grateful if folks could check my maths, as frequently my mileage totals seemed not to be correct last time round!
No running for me today as I've had a lot to do, wrapping and delivering presents etc. A couple of days off will do me good and back on it on boxing day.
Hello everyone. Long time no posting; what with injury in the summer, a distinct lack of motivation and then a new business venture in Derby I haven't been doing as much running (or have enough time to follow the thread) recently.
Just reading back over the past couple of pages some tragic news, even more so at this time of the year.
As I have no work until the new year I need to improve on my 10 runs in the last 5 weeks.
Isn't it great to have your kids home PMJ and see how they are maturing.
Speedy I can't open that file but would like to see your schedule- since I never have one .
I also went out for a 5 miler Jools at 7am expecting to run slow but it was so calm and beautiful on Tynemouth beach I was inspired to have a blast up and down the sands, best feeling I've had running for ages. I added a couple of hills at each end of the beach on the ramps to start my prep for New Years day. Not sure if I mentioned but I plan to repeat the feat I managed in 2009 but failed in 2010, to be the first person at the top of Skiddaw in 2013. Setting off at 7:30 am from Keswick and running to the top. No snow foreacast this year so sounds feasible.
11 wet, undulating miles for me this morning. Joined for the last 4 by younger Lorenzito who after appearing to struggle on the uphill parts, kicked for home with about 200m to go and left me for dead. Won't be too long before I lose bragging rights.
Hope everyone out there has a fantastic Christmas Day!!!
Christmas parkrunning for me brought a course PB (still 80 seconds slower than my real PB though). We were back on the normal route, not avoiding the flood. I'm not sure if that was because there was no point avoiding that one given how wet most of the course was anyway, or simply because there was no lead bike and they feared we'd get lost!
Got a new pair of running shoes for Christmas, and lots of jelly babies!
There is a Christmas pudding run at Whitley Bay seafront tomorrow at 10:30 if you fancy a less muddy outing Speedy. I'll be there with little OO, assuming my mountain of a stomach subsides
Poacher - what a brilliant interview, really inspiring. I love your thinking 'what if the opposite was true'. I'm going to use that all the time now - it'll drive my kids crazy!
OO - I was just looking at that as it happens, but it's a bit short. I could really use a longer run tomorrow, though I'm struggling to come up with a route.

Merry Xmas everybody!!!!
Right then, the VLM 2013 schedule is done and hopefully residing here:
Schedule1

Keirs thread looks a good'en.
Merry Christmas everyone.
What and where is this "Keir's thread" that you speak of?
Terrible news, RFJ. Not much more you can say, really.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Merry Christmas to all; hope it's a happy and peaceful one.

Hmm, it works for me OO. I'm not great with technology. PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.
Merry Christmas one and all, may Santa bring us all lots of PBs for 2013.
VLM again Moof. Current target sub 3.10 (but I said that last year)!!!!
yep for the world record eating contest...
Of course I'm planning to train: off for 12M shortly
Merry Christmas!
Nice plan OO!!
Keir, cracking thread, really enjoying it. Will check out your mentoring prowess too Minni
Overdo it everybody!
A brisk 4-miler wearing your traditional Father Christmas hat - no season's greetings from the miserable dog-walkers.
PMJ - Are you with me on frowning on the use of "Santa" as opposed to the above-mentioned "F.C."? 'Course you are.
Minni - I see you are fairly undemanding. I like that.
Should I have opened that bottle of Cava quite so soon? Time and turkey will tell.
Have a great day, everyone.
Merry Christmas everyone.
8 miles with strides. Only 2 Merry Christmas when out.
Seasons Greetings
Hope everyone out there has a fantastic Christmas Day!!!
Now where did I leave my beer?
only the fizzy stuff here moof
Now, champers....
Have a lovely day all
Have revisited the blog of late, so this morning's run can be found at www.runninghomeforchristmas.wordpress.com
Merry Christmas! xx (am now a little tipsy)

Sorry to hear of the very sad news in respect to OO and RFJ's colleagues.
I'm fat and unfit but starting to do a bit. Hope to see some of you in chandos in April.
RJ - I'd swap my skinny and fit for your fat and unfit anyday cause i'm sure it would get me my sub 3:15.
Did you help write the Asics plans...?!
OO - I was just looking at that as it happens, but it's a bit short. I could really use a longer run tomorrow, though I'm struggling to come up with a route.
