14M @ 7.43m/m. Really should venture back to the hills soon now that I'm back in Bristol, even if this running on the flat is so much more flattering on pace!
A fine collection you have there SJ. Good to see you maintained the dark colour choice - so much better to have all the dog hair the same colour (bar a few white patches). Ours are dumb blondes - the light coloured tumbleweeds are disguised by an array of beige fixtures and fittings until Mr Dyson does his stuff.
Anyway, back to the running - nothing to report as such.
Holy ****, that's a BIG dog. I thought Frazer's poochie was big (well, he is - he's as big as me, and stronger), but that one takes the biscuit. How much does it cost to feed him????
SJ - what sort of temperament does the Newfoundland have? He looks very placid, but even a friendly bound could end in disaster! Sorry, no dog pics to post. Next dog-sitting is in September. At least I'll probably have plenty of time to take her for a walk
Slokey - are you secretly building a team for the Iditarod trail?
Nice puppies Minni - I definently won't be showing that pic to my son who periodically asks ' can we get a dog Daddy?'
Half an hour spinning yesterday followed by 2 circuits of strengh excercises and finished off with 4x400m rows with 200m recovery on the Concept2. Today is a running day
CC, he doesn't eat that much really, he's just big boned. Plus he can supplement his diet with the odd child here and there, we have plenty of them lying around.
Gul, he has a fantastic temperament. Even as a young dog, the kids could walk all over him and he wouldn't flinch. Excellent on a lead and very calm and friendly with strangers. He basically just likes to loll around, have a nap and a cuddle and his favourite hobby is drooling on the other household inhabitants.
Very attractive puppies there Minni, they certainly look like a handful!
Running news - went for a run, 11 miles with 8 x 1200m @ 5:50 pace. Felt tough after some hard rowing earlier in the week that did my quads no favours.
These two were not invited:
Nice puppies Minni - each one trying to outdo the other with the best centrefold pose.
SJ - had the pleasure of lookinf after a Newfie for a week a couple of years back. It was a pleasure, although our eldest dog was a little put out by his sheer size.
18.00 and 6th overall at local 5k tonight. Mixed feelings as only 1sec slower than my pb. Lesson of the night - dont go too hard in the 1st k trying to keep up with fast looking 15yr olds as the can get to the 1k mark, say 'oh f**k' and stop!
Comments
The lab is 13, the newfie is 9 and I'm 42
Sounds pleasant Keir. Weather is on the turn here I think. Probably because I'm now off work for 2 weeks. It's bound to rain every day!
Frazer, have you been driving around Manchester?
Getting close now Poacher- looks like you made it safely to start line.
Jesus Slokey that's not a dog it's Digby
4 miles a 6:30 pace for me- that hurt...
my new carbon fibre poles arrived today- very tasty

I hope fraser's not upset that he no longer has the biggest pooch on the thread.
I must post a picture of my puppies.
Ooh err matron
Minni - corrr ! have they each got a pink nose ?
oops wrong one....
Well that completely backfired because mey cutest puppy pics are too big for RW and its too late to start reducing them. Ah well....
x2
warm flush averted..

It's my (and co-incidently my wife's) 1year anniversary today. I didn't expect to start the morning looking closely at Nell McAndrew's belly button.

This is turning into DogBook.

Happy anniversary to Mr&Mrs Keir
The older 2 are far too lazy for Iditarod BikeIt. Nice cross training.
Oh well just remember that a solo run or bike is a possibilty too
So who gets your vote Minnis puppies or Han Solo and Chewbacca?
10 miles this morning with 9 at PMP (sub 6.50) because I was a little late for work, heart rate was lower than expected which is nice.

Nice work Moof and Keir. Great session from AR
Minni's little fellas are fab. Have to say I do like my hounds large and hairy though. Chewie has it by a whisker
I can neither confirm nor deny that I was driving the mean streers of Manc searching for Poacher whilst balancing a beast on my knee the other night.
Can't get a pic to upload on this daft iPad. Will have a bash on the PC later to prolong the canine shenanigans
