well done everyone! i'd like to say a HUGE congrats to everyone who made it through including Uppy Daisy in my category Dont let us down now UD! (3.15 or lower!!!!) i will be rooting for you all and watching your progress GOOD LUCK ALL and enjoy the ride x
Thanks guys - and very best wishes to Bexie and Tom. You two were great to train with at bootcamp and I'm looking forward to following the sub-4:00 schedule with you both.
Getting this far from a field of 1100 entrants is an achievement in itself.
...Now there's just the little matter of a marathon pb in April. Like many of those who didn't make it though, I'll be following your progress and supporting you throughout. Train hard, have fun, and make the most of it!!
Congratulations to everyone who won through. Out of 1100 entrants it's an amazing achievement.
Many thanks to all who voted for me, & for all at RW & Asics for giving me a great time at the selection day in Birmingham. (apart from the fact that I wrecked my mobile phone by dropping it down the loo)
If I had to make one small negative point, and it would be the only one I had to make, it would have to be that it would have been nice to get a quick call from RW to say 'sorry, but no' as opposed to an e-mail which I hadn't read before the results went live, rather than get text messages from mates saying "sorry you didn't win" then reading it on the website for myself...
Am now going to cheer myself up by watching a Dr Who DVD boxset & munching my way through a packet of chocolate hobnobs...
Peter I'm really pleased you've been chosen as the sub 3 runner. It seemed to me you represented the best chance of achieving the time and I notice you just ran a 36m33s 10k at the weekend so you're carrying through excellent speed into the start of your schedule. I'd suggest you join the Bournemouth AC as soon as possible and use them to help you to your goal. I'll be following your progress with interest
Thanks very much i'm over the moon to have made it through. Glad your already keeping track of me and hopefully that 10k should lay the foundations for the months ahead. Yeah i'll definatly have a serious think about joining bournemouth ac, so far i've just trained on my own but starting to understand what the advantages of joining a club would be. Look forward to keeping you posted and thanks again for the support.
Many many thanks to everyone for voting and for the good wishes . I'm sorry to those who did not go through. Really excited about everything coming up and sharing it with you. It's gonna be a great adventure!
Well done Peter on your selection for the sub 3 category. I could tell wen we did the time trial you had the edge on the other guys in that category and your recent 10k time s proof that it went to the right bloke. Good luck with your training and I hope you achieve your goal.
