O4S-dont believe a word of what you say you seem to make lots of very tasty cake and I bet your house is the one covered in tasteful lightsimage

Minni/Bro/Simon-hot baths? My galvanised tub sprung a leak a long time ago-I wash in the stream at the back of the mill if you would like to know

15k completed av 7.30mm with 11 at what I hope to MP in the Spring but today was verging onimage

  • 2old - I feel sorry for your neighbours down streamimage. So was that a 15k Msr/tempo run? I've just come back from a similar (but) slower sess. 9.25m in 1:18:23 @ 8.28 pace. Very windy, but avoided any rain.

Minni - Hot baths, so that's why I'm so slow.

  • We don't do Christmas decorations either, but if we did our house would be like this one (on the right).....

    Free/Minni-love them both

Simon-not sure what you call the session-2k at12.1kmph wu, then 11k at 13.2kmph(marathon pace in April???) ,followed by 2k cool down at 12.1kmph -on the TM as you probably guessed. Much better session by you outside

  • 2Old: simply got out of the habit of posting, I will be at Boston.

O4S: i assume then that Plain Crazy is not a mudbath then?

Minni: sounds as if your man knows his onions and you!

trotted out 10k this morning, it wasn't pretty. I think i might have over done it just lately. Went from zero for two weeks whilst working offshore Dubai straight back to 40 + MPW with a bit of cycling thrown in, two weeks later body is rebelling!

  • DD- I somehow feel a rest day or two may help!imageimage

  • Haha, love the pic! Excellent!!

    Nice quick reps, carrot. Wow.

Freemers: xmas party in fancy dress is brill. Send a piccie!

Good to see you back, DD

Mega busy (what else is new, yawn image) but I managed 10 yesterday and even snuck out for 5 hilly ones at 3pm. Now back to work image

  • Bro: touché! Im great at handing out advice, not so good with listening to others.

  • Freemers: brilliant, I have always wanted to do something like that, luckily none of our neighbours seem to be in to Christmas lights.

DD: they had to change the route a year or two back when unexploded bombs were found near the off- road section just before the event. Now mainly on track, concrete or muddy on top but firm underneath. It is just very exposed in places if the weather is bad (like at the moment!), but reasonably fast for an off- road run once you get up the first climb......

Rest day for me today, which is just as well given the wind and rain down here

  • 2old/Barry there will be a rematch during Christmas image

Free/Carrot When I booked the HM it seemed ages away but now getting closer - you're both right though I should be fine image

Carrot I failed & didn't go lunchtime running yesterday as I swapped my training days around & went out lunchtime today. Quick reps there as well Carrot

Freemers That pic is brilliant! Like the card as well Minni - that's lovely

    Chick good mileage again

I swapped my rest day around & went out for hill training at lunchtime today - nice & windy & then the rain arrived but I enjoyed it & I was prepared for returning to work to a Christmas do & more food! image

    That was unfortunate illumination

  • Morning all. Hope you lot out west are still standing with the gales last night. 10 miles done at dawn for me. Foot feeling better. Hip has decided to have a moan now!

  • DD- aren't we all...image

Well I've moved things around and having a rest day today. Felt I needed it.

    Pinklady- nice hil session.

2Old- Can I have your scales please?image No wonder your 11 @ mp was verging on image. Long way to go before the spring, it's not meant to feel easy just yet!

Simon- well done on your tempo/ MP session.

I might have to seriously rethink hot baths.

  • AA- xpost. Nice early 10 miler!

  • 2Old2Old ✭✭✭

Bro-it was only 11k-just over a quarter(thats all) of the way thereimage. Cold baths have their benefits too. Hope you enjoyed the rest.Ive worked out that my rest days are busier than running days so thats why maybe Im struggling at the moment

AA-After a that horrendous rain last night it was a great early morning here so if yours was anything like it ,that will have been a rewarding 10m.

Looks like my picture failed-probably for the best as I might have been banned for itimage

Saw Hunger Games2 last night, much better than HG1-didnt really like the idea of kids killing each other as in HG1 though mine seemed quite happy about it.

That's all I have to say this morning.....

  • Free- lol what seems to be the problem??? Something to do with the party last night?image

  • 2Old- planning to see it this weekend.

image Freemers! Doing it for the team!

  • Minni - Leaving it late to change to Christmas name?

  • 2Old2Old ✭✭✭

    Bro-Hope you enjoy it

    Free-ha haimage

12.1k easy out of the way-why are easy runs the hardest? Broken the 1600 mile barrier for the year today which looks ok but hides the fact I did over 50% in the first four months of the year

  • Tee hee - love it Freemers image

Our team is off to the Christmas market now. Bring on the Glühwein ...  and cue hangover tomorrow.... although I'm supposed to do a 10 miler image

  • Ooof been a little windy outside. Hopefully the wind will be blowing me up the hill during tonight's tempo session - which is handily just before the club's Christmas party.

Good to see that the hangovers are still in full effect. I was in bed at 10 last night - possibly because we had a boozy client Christmas lunch image

    Enjoy the Gluhwein chick

  • Anyone know if there will be support groups for the VLM this year?

  • Good to see you all enjoying the xmas festivities, with a bit of running thrown in, and the morning afters.image

Minni - Good news on your visit to the specialist, loving the xmas card.

2old - Watched HG1 on DVD last week, enjoyed it. Think I'll just break the 1000.

El Gato - I think the VLM support groups get organised nearer the time, look out for threads asking for volunteers/participants.

8 wet and windy slow miles yesterday and 6 miles today 1 WU 4 "brisk"(according to plan, HM pace I think) and 1WD.  Avg for quick ones came out at 6:46 which I was v happy with as they were quicker than my mile repeats last week.

Chick- I prefer vin chaud image You'll do the 10

Barry - 2 marathons on 1k miles. Impressed . still knocking out the fast miles. I approach it the other way round slow slow and steady  until end of a Feb

Ant - wind assisted is the best way to go uphill

  • Hope you're feeling better Free, did the running gear go down as well as the drinks?! It's always a bit cruel having the work do on a weeknight.

I'm with you on the hot baths Bro! Needed during the winter.  Two breakfasts image

Nice spine Minni! Hope the sessions help, you've still been running fine haven't you?

2old it's always odd when you end up lighter without even trying.  Sounds like the MP session went well, they're never easy.

Very brisk Barry! Which training plan are you following?

I didn't mean I'd done the 2000m reps in 8:00!! Crumbs, I wish.  I was just saying Barry had churned out some decent 800m reps... mine were between 8:04-8:09.  Another Christmas day/night out planned tomorrow, this time with my fabulous friends image Have a 10K race on Saturday but it doesn't start until 11:30am so I'm sure I'll be fine... have parkrun Run Director duties to get through first so will have a rehydration drink ready to drink when I roll home tomorrow night.  Because everything is OK after one of those.
