just aquick update now have 4 rolls gaffer tape and two stanley type knives to drop off on wednesday, thanks again to all the great supporters, we really do appreciate what you do
Hi Schmunkee, its still quite quiet over on group 7 so happy to take any late joiners.
If Chalky and Ex Pat Scot, are still around, please pop into the group 7 thread. I've pm'd the rest of our runners so hopefully they will be joining us soon
Not sure which of the support groups I should approach, and probably left it too late. But after 4 months of training alone I would appreciate a shout out to encourage me. can someone tell me which group to join please? I am a first timer aiming for under 4 hours. General ballot winner but running for 2 charities. Thanks Trev.
P.S. My wife is coming up with me (long ways from north Devon) and rather than be stuck in the Holiday in at Heathrow she could be a supporter but has 0 confidence of driving/finding places/parking in London. Is this a possibility?
Your wife would just need to get herself onto Tube and DLR and out at Mudchute station. The supporters will be directly over the road from there. Shouldn't be too hard to find as you'll be coming part way in on the train anyway and there are always station staff about to help the non-natives find their way.
Just doing a quick round of the VLM threads. If anyone is looking for a train ticket from the NW (Macclesfield) to London, please message me. Depart 16th April morning, Return 17th April evening. It might even suit a football fan going down for the semi's. I've got a spare now as my daughter cant make it. Selling at cost £23.
I might be too late but worth a shot anyway. Are there any spaces left for an extra runner? My OH and her friend are also running and we do have a support group with us however I will more than likely miss them due to timings so could do with an extra shout out. If not i'll still give you all a wave as I go past.
Erm! It's great that people are offering to take in the waifs and strays and I have no wish to stop that, but we are trying to get a balance between the number of supporters per group as well as the number of runners. There may well be groups with three supporters who have more capacity to take on extra's.
Like I said, don't wanna knock the enthusiasm as it's good to know people are willing to take on extra, but can we keep an eye on the supporter/runner ratio. Cheers
ISB - last year we were all just milling around the main bar. You couldn't miss us even if you tried. Do you want my mobile number, then you can always text me or call on the day
Looks like I will sadly be bowing out of this year's VLM.
Got all through training no problem but have been struggling with this ankle injury, and having tried a run (a mere 1.4 miles run/walk yesterday) I now can hardly walk.
I'm gutted, to say the least, but hope to be at the start line next year, fighting fit.
Trev definitely make sure your wife doesn't stay in the hotel - what a miserable day that would be! The atmosphere is fab wherever you are, but agree if she wants lots of friendly people then join the supporters at mudchute. Under no circumstances should she drive - piccadilly line tube from heathrow, a few changes then onto the DLR down to mudchute. Will prob take a bit over an hr each way.

Always have swisser / camera / first aid / jelly babies.
Can easily grab bin liners / plastic bags if needed + gaffer tape.
Need to work out logistics of being assertive and carrying bamboo - have hundreds in garden - could bring the roots as well
(yep, that's probably a stupid question but the sun's addled my brain)
I like RW. I like Fetchies. But which is the best........
FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

Aw, sorry to hear that LP, but I shall be on the other side of the fence with you next year.
(Hope that hasn't made you feel worse )
