I would suggest finish the plan you started and then work on the z2 afters - or just try and keep you HR under 155 as much as you can (this is what I did when I started way back when - it was all I could do to keep it under 155 was soooo unfit )
I too did not get into the Ride 100 which would've been a mild miracle seeing as how I didn't enter
EP - keep to the plan! I am doing all my long runs as run/walk now and intend to keep it that way. I have been looking into the Jeff Galloway training plans, and there is a thread somewhere on it. Last Sunday I did 10 miles of 60secs run 30 secs walk and it was fine. I am intending to do my marathon in April all run/walk, just need to find the right ratio so that I make it round!
Didn't sleep much last night (work stress) so didn't run this morning, have parents evening tonight so won't make it to my swimsmooth session either! I am hoping I will have a bit of energy to do a gentle run or turbo when I get back just so I do something
I too didn't get into Ride 100 and hadn't entered. Really not interested in trying to haul my bike down to London! King of the Penines would be a much better ride, but not sure I am up to those hills
oh and buttercup - after seeing your fb post just had to play Iron Maiden run to the hills when I got to work nothing like starting the day with a bit of rock!
Maybe I should join in in 2015 if everyone else is doing it...
Suzanne Vega was brilliant as always. Didn't realise she has a new album out; she did 4-5 songs from it and very good indeed. I asked bf to buy me the cd.
Spin for me after work, was thinking about making it into an indoor brick, see how I feel later.

Ok, so another question for the ladies of the thread. Just interested to have an approximate idea ( I know it'll defer etc) but, What's the frame size on your bike and how tall are you?
Just looking at bikes again, this time on ebay. As I will have to buy a proper road bike if I'm to do Wild Boar.
Specialized Dolce 51cm but borderline on 54cm, the LBS went for smaller as not used to riding a road bike at the time and it gave more flexibility on fitting. Hybrid Trek is a 17" . I am 5'4" with 29" inside leg but slightly short on the arms.
Thanks ladies. Seems I'm pretty much like Steady. I think I'd be happy with a smaller bike as well as not had a road bike before and think I'll find the position challenging. But at least gives me some idea what to expect. I have found a local'ish bike shop so will try to find some time to get there. Will probably be April/May time before I can get it though.
Indoor brick for me. 48min spin and 2km run. Not too bad.
Mikasa, I am not too far away from you now, so I could bring my bike down and you could see what you think and presuming this rain ever stops I could get out for a ride. Which bike shop are you thinking of going to. Dustboy may be able to recommend one.
Spinning tonight was hard work, felt sick at times and sweated buckets which is unusual for me. Think I may have a hot chocolate drink for recovery purposes.
Ran 4.5 miles with Horse tonight in the cold and rain, but still enjoyed it, we averaged 9'43" min/mile so I'm ok with that but I think I hold Horse back a bit but he dosn't say anything.
Steady, that would be great. I don't mind coming your way either. When I was looking at bikes on ebay, one of them was for collection only from North Hants Bikes in Whitchurch but if anyone has better suggestions, those are always welcome.
Just got news that bf is going to work in Toulouse for next 3 weeks and I might even have a chance to visit one weekend. Can't take any time of work though so will be a short Fri-Sun visit but I do like travelling and seeing new places.
Can I please be be-friended on fb as well?
Also, this was the bike from northhants bikes if anyone knows more about specs etc. Obviously now the 48 might be to small for me...
hi everyone! It's been a tough week at work - observations of others in my frees, coursework to mark and my own observation with bottom set year 10! But managed to train pretty well 10mile run tues (slow), 2k swim Wednesday, Thursday 6mile run (v v slow) in the poring rain and 2k swim this morning in 41 mins with total time of 48 mins ( about 4 of those mins were waiting while they moved the floor) so pretty chuffed. Have stuffed my face with soup, three slices of toast and butter and a HUGE wedge of fruit cake - yum scrum! No the ironing - marking tomorrow!

Try before you buy. I'm another 5ft5" with a Dolce 54cm. I have long arms and legs and a fat blob in the middle for a torso
