  • No more reading in the bath for you image

Btw, FF started this thread http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/forummessages/mps/dt/4/UTN/169288/

ETA - footnotes are apparently split onto another page if you are reading non-fiction books

beebs my Mum absolutely loves her kindle, she is a total convert. She likes it for reading in bed as it is so light to hold when snuggled down. She has been downloading free books and has just re-read Little Women which she hasn't read since she was a girl.

    Black Beauty eh?
  • Beebs, I think there was another thread on this a couple of weeks ago if you can find it. Think Flat Footed started it and there were quite a few opinions given on there.
  • Thanks

Its a yes from me, nice to see real people confirming the Amazon reviews.

  • My dad had one from Father Christmas, and he really rates it. It can feel like a book to hold if you put it in a suitable cover. The display is excellent, but if flashes when you change pages, which I found utterly irritating, but I don't know if you can change that.

The Kindle and iBooks apps on iPad are much nicer to use.
  • iPads are a lot more money Intermanaut and heavier, I believe.
  • I bought Limpette one for Christmas and I am dead jealous now! It's brilliant. Techno-wise I can't tell you anything cos I'm a bit fick innit about the details, but I know I want one!

  • Ordered one image
  • I only get mine if I achieve my training and weight goals for Jan image
  • Good move! Love mine. Love it love it love it!! Love it! image

  • I've had mine about a month and I'm seriously smitten image
  • Bought Mrs RK one for Xmas. Fab bit of kit. She gets through 2 or 3 books a week and don't think she'll go to paper again.

Cheap, ney free books, keeps your page, downloadable books, web browserm light, compact - no downsides at all.

    Highly recommended.

  • Having read all the reviews and taking my lead from TP I may purchase one if I manage to stay on the waggon (with no chocolate not booze) for the month of January.

Kazz - any chance you might have yours on you when I see you?

  • I worked on the premise that all the time I'm spending looking at what I can get then all the time reading will distract me from not drinking image
  • I second all the positive reviews......... my wife bought me one for Christmas, and I love it.......

I'm re-acquanting myself with the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and have got many funny looks on the train when I laugh out loud at something.....

  • Mouse, was going to suggest you check my kindle out when we meet.  Will definitely have it with me.
  • Another happy user here as well. Got mine in early december and have just kept reading ever since. What with lots of free titles as well and coupled with some great books at less than £1 i don't think you can go wrong.
  • It should be here by Tuesday, I'm so excited image
  • Have you put books on it already Beebs?
  • I've got 8 on my Wish list, UK and started to look through freebies.
  • Cool.  I ordered several books at the same time as the kindle so they were already on there when it arrived.  Out of the box and started reading image
  • Shame you can't buy Kindle books from other people's wish lists yet. Not sure how the Tantra book will go with the Kindle though Beebs image

  • UK, just bought the 8 I'd chosen, thanks image
