excellent, thanks for that info....I'll very likely turn out early and hope for a marathon place (but really keep my fingers crossed that its full and forces me to try for that elusive sub 1:30 half!!!)

You know you want to do another marathon this weekend! If not then a stab at 1:30 should be a good workout

Thank you for such a well-organised and friendly race! Did find it challenging - nothing to take my mind of the golf-ball sized blisters under my toes in the 2nd half - but finished with pb of 3.44 so v happy with that! Excellent support from marshalls, and the fellow runners were so friendly and happy! Enjoyed it a lot, especially when I'd finished.
Also, my mum and her sour-faced dog loved it too! Mum found a 50s throwback hotel complete with eccentric 'hostess' in full evening dress.. like a cross between Miss Marple and Cybil Fawlty. and now she wants to return to Margate for her hols next year!
Also a nice t-shirt and goody bag (esp given the very reasonable entry fee). Congrats to the organisers!
Brilliant race again TRAC, thank you very much. It really does deserve to sit up there alongside the Halstead's as a very friendly and faultlessly organised marathon.
My 4th time here and took an hour longer than the previous attempts, but given that I struggled with my injury so much in H1 that I fully intended to drop out at the half way, I'm still just surprised to have finished! Pleased that I did as the support (especially marshalls) was brilliant for the slower runners. I even managed to get my ankle running again for the last couple of miles!
I also liked the interesting medal and loved getting a t-shirt again

Yes Sharon the best marshalled event in Kent will be supplying the jelly babies and last little hill support on the Sunday 2nd September, how was the Brighton? is it worth the £55 entry?

I looked at this marathon last year when I was very new to running and was a little wary of the no headphone rule, so stupid of me really! I
Brighton was a great day and very special, mainly becuase it was my first marathon, was it worth £55, probably not and it's probbaly not worth £67 to enter the ballot for next year. The bells and whistle races are nice to do but in my own opinion the real gems are the small unassuming races. I'll be signing beginning of May and I can't wait to start training next week.
