Good luck everyone - last long training run for me tonight. I love them hills, I think my favourite is the one up to Sandpit Gate after about 10 miles.
Was OK today, but 3 minutes off my pb from a couple of weeks ago in Bristol due to the hills and wind. Actually quite liked the finish straight myself. Knew exactly how far there was to go and although the line didn't ever appear to get any closer it was a good sprint down and just focusing on making sure that the person I could hear over my shoulder at the start didn't get any closer and gradually winding up the speed. Good crowds too at a few spots around the course. The water in plastic cups wasn't great though.
Happy enough with my time and I was racing in the Midlands relays the day before which probably wasn't ideal preparation. But I got 1:25:?? on a course that isn't suited to pb's, now just have to saty un-injured for another couple of weeks until Amsterdam Marathon.
Good spot that the times are on marathonphotos. I'm actually wanting to know my position, will have to be amongst the highest placings we've ever got in a race with 4000+ people in. Felt a bit out of place at the start line being only one row behind the guy who was obviously about to win, Thomas Abyu(?).
Marathon photos are fab - as their race photo with timing always gives you your time!
It was a tough day out, I had forgotten how "undulating" the course was. But with a change in training and my training started on the 1st September, I managed to reduce my slow time by just over 6minutes which I am really pleased about as wasn't expecting to improve (oh and wanted to quit after the first lap...OH was having none of that though and told me to keep running!
I also want to see my position, to see me creeping up from almost last to the last 20 to somewhere this year!

Not going to make this race now. I hurt my knee a few weeks ago falling off my bicycle and I haven't been able to do enough training.
Good luck to everyone for Sunday - hope you all have a great race!
Mixed course, some great areas of support mixed with some quite desolate stretches.

RP3, Much slower course than Bristol, must agree. Muscled round to a 1.28 yesterday. 1.25 is a tasty time on that course with the conditions.
Incredibly the photos have been released before the race results.
C'mon Windsor, it's chip timed for gods sake.
