Richard M Tuesday Col de Jambaz Wednesday Colombier & Aravis Thursday Madelaine Friday Telegraph & Galibier Saturday L'Alpe D'Huez Total 285 miles and 7500m climb Superb adventure despite lugging 35kg of gear on my 17 kg bike
Hehe... We cycled Paris to Nice and on the way took in Telegraph (Sunday evening), Galibier and Vars (Monday) and then La Bonnette (Tuesday morning). Brilliant time but like you I could hardly lift my bike by the time it had my gear on it and I thought I had travelled lightly. Did 630 miles in total in 6.5 days.
impressive ...... I was so hyper on my return I couldnt give a shit about work and had a day off on the Monday (Im a contractor so nobody was bothered anyway)
Burn Valley Half up in Masham. Tough run followed by a lovely tea and then hopefully a pint of Black Sheep or Theakstons at the Brewery. Hope it's not too hot.
Well I've asked but I think I know the answer already ... I doubt they'd accept TWO entries ...
although I've done it twice (2001 & 2002), I can't remember the course in detail, and wonder if it's possible to get lost? that's all I'm hoping for - mile markers and signs - they'll have cleared away all the water stations & the finishing clock and everyone will have gone home ...
I have a vague plan for hiding bottles for the 2nd half & a change of vest with another number on - all my kit (inc the helmet and motorbike gear!) left in Phoenix Leisure Centre ??? (not the storage van)

Happy Shambler!
People keep telling me how hilly it is, so I think I'll take my crampons and leave my watch in the car
Not-ready-For-Mine Shambler!
LAUNCESTON HALF - woopee!!!
Seventh race in the Cornish Grand Prix series for 2003 - woopee cos it's the first race in the series over 10 miles
Billed as "Quite possibly the toughest half marathon in the South West!"
I remember there being a concrete wall about Mile 12, trying to pass itself off as a road
Stig! crampons may be a neat idea ...
(so I thought I'd go round twice ... )
