I'm training for next Sunday's Sheffield half-marathon (my first) and training was going well, until last week, when I strained a quad muscle: nothing too serious, but I have had to take a few days off training. The leg feels fine now, and I am thinking about resuming running, but I am not sure what to do now, in the taper week. Should I simply follow my plan for the final week? Will I be affected by missing the last long run in preparation? I have run several 10+ mile training runs, and one half-marathon distance before the strain.
