Read her biography-she's dull. Her style is to slowly wear down her opponents which can be very successful but not many blistering exciting finishes apart from one win in the mud in Belgium.
I don't think she's dull, it's just that she's not big-headed.
She's done very well for herself but I think her days as an athlete are almost over, she's just too injury stricken nowadays. I love to see her compete in 2012 though even if it's not for a medal.
Spooky NLR - I was thinking about Ovett and Coe earlier.
A lot of top flight sportspeople are pretty dull. Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton, Jonny Wilksinson, Wayne Rooney - all very dull yet high achievers in their sport.
There is room for the Eddie the Eagles but I'd rather have a British champ than a chump.
I do hope that PR can make it to 2012. A win is unlikely but not beyond the realms of possibility.
I don't know about dull, but most elite distance runners have to be either loners with no family or very selfish or both. How else would you be able to bang out 100 to 120 miles a week on a regular basis with gym work on top of that? I believe this is partly why british male runners aren't at the standard they used to be. It's no longer common for men to do nothing but bring in the money while the little lady stays at home and does everything else like it was in my parents generation. But that's another debate altogether.
Personally I also think Paula has all the motivation and experience to win Olympic gold 'at home' in London. I just hope she can say "No" if her fitness lets her down. She really has punished that body. I am certain that she will retire after the Olympics if not before through injury.
Paula's career has never been dull and i feel thats what she should be judged on,after all we are on a running forum.
As there are a few on this forum who are interested in more than the running read on
Ovett/Coe- The Ovett i worked with on a commericial in the 80's was boring and the coe i got to know when we competed for the same club in the 80's was/is a good bloke and a right laugh.

I'd agree if it wasn't always such a production when she doesn't win.
Some people are suited to coming 5th or 6th - she isn't. She doesn't wear it well!
She's not dull really..The bit running with Chris Moyles in Hyde Pk on radio 1 and talking about farting whilst running was amusing
The wife has been at Bedford & Co for years so we know the real person a bit more...

Maybe thats why we we all loved Ovett and not Coe

Interview with Radcliffe:
Radcliffe Interview
Always makes me chuckle when she pretends her move to Monte Carlo had nothing to do with tax.
Don't need to read autobiographies North London Runner - We actually know her.
Agreed sports stars should be upfront about tax moves though
Being Paula's best mate, accountant and physiotherapist, I've got a few views on all this but I think I'll keep them to myself.
As you were.
I'll leave it to the people on here who know everything...apparently.
