So I officially got made redundant yesterday (it was the better option then relocating)
It's far from a job offer but things are looking somewhat positive. I thought I would go weeks without hearing anything but today I've been contacted about 4 jobs. I can start sleeping at nights knowing I'm not totally useless!
Like I said, it's still such early days but being at least contacted is a comforting thought. And you know, there is no better subject then talking about yourself .
A big thank you to my 2 work mates who accompanied me to the ITU London Tri yesterday. You were great company, keeping me calm. I had to explain a lot, as you do not know anything about tri but your support was great.
They spotted me and shouted encouragement coming out of the swim, exiting T1 with the bike, then on the end of lap 1 of the run and were easy to find after I had crossed the finish line.
They even helped push my bike back to Victoria Station as I had a large rucksack on.
I had an absolutely lovely weekend in Stockholm with lovely people and great food. I did two things that scared me (two absolutely hellish rides at a theme park) and ran a lovely 10km race with my best friend.
Now, i'm ready to attack my day and attack the week!
The searing pain in my 'good' arm has subsided to a dull ache, so I can spend today doing all the things I need to do before the farmers' market on Saturday. *excited / nervous*
I had a cycling lesson yesterday to make sure I'm safe on the roads.
The instructor cycled behind me on my way home and pointed out what I needed to look out for, better ways to get through junctions etc. She was lovely and gave me loads of useful tips. Apparently I corner well but I still need to learn to look behind me more and signal earlier.
Best of all I've learnt to emergency stop without falling over!
Bit late, but last week I received a £270 tax rebate... Meaning I had the money I needed to buy some new customised trainers from Nike ID. I cannot wait to run in them
You have finally been successfully migrated and I've finally (after nearly 2 whole days! ) got you working for the users who need you. Now I don't need to spend the weekend worrying I'll be sacked.
Dear person X thank you so much for the 4 crates of beer we got yesterday. It wasn’t needed and moving you back to your folks was all in a days work but thank you anyway. Me and Jip now have to drink it all through, the hardship!
I had a prime spot at the local Farmers' Market today, sold a fair amount of stuff a customer described my wild cherry jam as 'tasting like heaven'. Best of all, a local cafe want to talk to me about suppling them with some pickles and bits
Big thanks to everyone who stopped by my stall and handed over their hard-earned cash in exchange for things in jars.
And I couldn't have done any of it without MrAN, I am soo grateful to have him.
Had my review at work this week, I thought I been quite shit especially the last few though weeks. But no my boss thought I had significantly exceeded expectations and I get to travel to both Poland and the Middle East with work
Although I'm coming to the end of my holiday (boo, hiss) I've had a fantastic couple of weeks spent walking with my girls and then my OH (who btw, has been an absolute saint in recent weeks). The added bonus has been the half stone weight loss in just over two weeks!
And I'm applying for another job. Ten minutes drive from home, small ethical company, no abusive patients (and consultant) to deal with, a one year post which would hopefully take me up to the business opening and I really, really want it.
