Gavo - yes, please bring the map. My long runs are getting seriously long in preparation for Amsterdam (yikes!) and I think 16 miles is just about all I can eek out of the Park and Blackheath...

oh yes, and an hourly countdown gets'em onto the edges of their seats in anticipation - ya know - 54 hours to go..

anyway, there are too many variables for that to work - eg gender of bartender... at least you could guarantee that it would all be downhill after the first drink.
As far as getting the first round in is concerned, I don't mind but you probably won't get what you ordered.
An open invitation to anyone who runs in (or has run in) Greenwich Park. A chance to put a name to some of those sweaty faces you meet, share some gossip (look how much we've learned about the Fans already!) and maybe find some like-paced runners to join you on your morning/evening tour of the park.
6:30 onwards at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich. I'll be there with a copy of Runners World for easy identification!(Email me if you don't know where the Trafalgar Tavern is - unfortunately, I don't know how to do links to cool maps)....

Having said that, I'm sure it's the Trafalgar tavern that's got a bar so high I need to stand on a step even to be seen in the first place...
I was slower than a snail there wasn't I!
You should always ask a fellow drinker to get down on all fours so that you can stand on their back. Or, if I've just been running then I'll probably be conveniantly lying on the floor in recovery.

Can't make the London Social next week but I heard Jack was intending to show up...
I'm off to the Brecon Beacons this afternoon so won't be bumping into any of you in the park this weekend, but hope it's a good one - and good luck for those of you racing!
Thanks again, Soo, for organising it - and I'd love to run with you sometime. Might even make an early morning next week - I ought to practise getting up before 9 again before I return to work :-) Let me know when/where you're going and whether you'd welcome the company...
