pirate roll of honor

while perusing the names on the outlaw 2012 list, a couple of names appeared that I had not heard of before, but the old timers welcomed them back with warm comments / open arms

who were these pirates...? I needed a history lesson

so I did a little digging and came up with the http://www.pirateshipoffools.co.uk/?p=1572 pirate roll of honour!

I am sure I have missed off a lot of events, so please , if you want, add any missed ones here and I'll update the website.

sorry for the formatting image

  • There was IMCH in 2009 mate. And I was also in IM France in 2008, and for the record I beat Garr image

    * sigh *
I am expecting a flood of names I have missed - I'll add them slowly....
The website formatting is a nightmare
  • A couple have done Kona, but I'm not too sure of the years.  I'll let others more knowing than me fill in the gaps.
  • IMNZ 2009 - Trogs, Aandersnog, Jaggy, Ally Bally Bee

There were also several relays teams at Roth and Outlaw last year - do they count too?

  • Cant see any 2009 events on there. I know at IMUK there was

    JPenno
    Rosey
    BlimeythatsBendy
    SoreShins
    Evilsandal
    UltraAJH
    Gazmanmeister?
    Dustboy
    Calf
    ridgebackmax
    No way Out

  • 2009 IMDE

    Me and Cougie
  • Viking and Holgs IMDE 2009

    IronMin Lanza 2009

Plum are you sure you and Cougie were at IMDE in 2009, I am sure I would have remembered if you were!!!

  • Plum, weren't you and Cougie there in 2008?

Because me and Viking were sh*ttin ourselves in 2009 that it would be a non wetsuit swim like guys had.

  • IMCH 2009 ... one of the biggest outing is missing
  • if i didnt keep going i think i'd end up the sisze of a small beached wale again image
  • IMCH 2009 ... one of the biggest outing is missing.....

hmm looks like I accidently deleted it!! bugger

KK - yup I agree.  Some names just disappear, others just keep on rolling.....

  • And then there are people who do one IM and loiter around in the vague hope that one day they'll have the time to do another but in reality that's not going to happen until their kid is old enough to come training with them.... <sigh image>

I watched one of the Outlaw videos at the weekend and remembered the thrill of doing IM.  For a few minutes I was thinking how I could manage the training given my current family situation.  How much running can I do with a buggy?  How far can I ride with a child seat on the back? image

Surely it could be considered resistance training. Just think how much easier it would feel cycling & running come race day!
  • Running, esp hills with my baby jogger is the hardest part of my running training MW...give it a go

  • I am planning to run with Little Miss W, once she's big enough to sit in the running buggy.  I'll be running people over in the park image
  • WOW

i'm that good I did Outlaw twice this year, will make the double next year easy

  • one of the 2005 IMCH guys - Avalaf - did Roth this year.....he's not posted on t'forum for some time but he's still in contact with a few people

and from memory, Pebble has done IM Florida twice since 2007 (don't recall years) and also IM Arizona.

Rosey - IM Wisconsin in 2010 (maybe 2009?)

IM South Africa has been done by Slummo and Bendy Jan - twice I think

WW - thats whats happened to me, injury and a big dose of CBA had meant doing nothing since IMUK and putting over 2 stoneimage.

Hoping to put that right by doing IMUK next year, still considering outlaw but when adding petrol and accomodation costs etc the entry fees are the same and I can stay in my own bed the night before

  • "IMNZ 2009 - Trogs, Aandersnog, Jaggy, Ally Bally Bee"

listed on the previous page KK - do keep up dear.....
  • and talking of Aanders - he's also done IM Malaysia and China I do believe.....
  • details people, I need details.....image

    roll of honor

  • Top work OC, will bookmark that page. image Need Schmunks to put it in alpha/age/shoe size order and we'll be right. At the risk of creating work for Donald, JD et al there is probably some cool database widget to link a list of aliases to a list of events, but one step at a time.
  • kanga - I also have access to the psof website and am currently content manager !

any ideas on content, or offers of consolidating race reports for 2010/2011 etc please shout. image

  • OC you have mail.  Not sure you noticed.
  • OC, the 2011 Roth was actually 2010 image

    I like the Roll Call.
