Hi,
I have just taken up running and spent a while studying which is the best technique. I have my head looking up, my whole body pointing slightly forward from the ankle (not the hip) and land on my midfoot.
I have 2 problems.
1. I get a slight 'twinge' in my shins when I land, this feels less like a pain and more like a sensation going up the front of the shins and is more muscle related than bone related.
2. I also have a slightly stretched left leg, somewhere between the glutes and the back of the knee ( I suspect this to be high on the ham string).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated especially if anyone can offer any reasons as to what I am doing wrong.
Thanks,
Doug
