It's a perfect Pirate winter event (even if the Tripetalkers try and muscle in with a support station on the hill that we really should challenge big time... - looking at JJ, Goose etc here!), to give you something to focus on post the IM season.

AND it's a doddle to do but you get lots of cred, and you can impress your non Pirate mates by telling them you did the biggest hill on the Olympic Road Race course a whole FIVE times!

I did this in Nov 2008 as a novice and it was an awful wet day and have never been back since...............but theres 3 or 4 of us from the Sub3 thread looking at doing it this November.

Unfortunately, having been really keen to do this one finally after hearing so much from Gladys and Henny, I have just found out it is the same day as the Mens Health Survival of the Fittest in Battersea Power Station.  Entered it ages ago with some mates from work and can't really back out of it now so am gonna have to wait till the Spring BB now.

Yes, Shaun, both Spring and Winter are the same route. You'll grow to know it very well!

Spring tends to attract a lower quality field (if that matters?) as the dates clash with national duathlon championships I think. Normally in the November one you get good athletes like Wayne Smith and Lee Piercy etc.

Other than that, no difference.

I havnt entered yet (its down the pecking order of impending payments), but I will. I'm up for this now, the "fear" will get me out on my bike lots through Oct and make me run more miles than I otherwise would have, so thats a good reason to enter in itself.............trouble is, it'll p*ss down on the day if I show up !

Be careful it doesn't fill up TR: 217 entries so far, they had 380 starters last year so I'd guess the limit is 400 or so.

With your weather track record I'm tempted to tell you to stay at home though
