Seems like every man and his dog been trying to get late entry into this race!
Thought I might be one of those dropping out (and still might be!), picked up an ankle injury doing my LSR with 4 weeks to go, and have only just been able to run on the treadmill the last couple of nights, thankfully with no bad reaction. Going to try 6M on the road on Friday, then 10M on Sunday. Assuming that goes OK, then I'll taper down slightly and do the race. Gutted about the injury, really tempered the excitement I should be feeling at this point, but at least I'm still in with a shout at completing, even though I have downgraded my target time.
Hope everyone else feeling fit and strong and ready for it....
Hey Ian, know whatyou mean..did last 18 miler last Sat. went out on Monday and came home with chronic knee/sciatic pain. Rested up since and funnily enough am doing 6 tomorrow and 10-12 on Saturday..all being well, see you there
If anyone cannot use his entry for the Marathon for whatever decision and wishes not to go for waste I would like to buy his place please. I can even throw afree an hour sport massage if you are in London
Thanks
Charlie
Hi Charlie,
Are you still after a place ?
I've decided to give it a miss, let me know if you can still do the transfer.
Hope you didn't go too long jay, no medals on offer today! 10 for me earlier, ankle feels about 90% so gonna give it a go next Sunday. My juices flowing too after vlm, can't wait to get started. BR - hope your runs been ok last couple of days, and you fit enough to run next week
Thanks for asking Ian..thought I'd blown it Friday night..knee and hip in agony! Spent yesterday rolling my butt about on a tennis ball which seemed to ease things..so I set off for a very tenative-see how it goes and return on immediate sign of danger however 10 done and a physio booked for Tues!! All being well, will be on the start line but have now downgraded my 3:45 aspiration.
Might just wear a hat which I don't normally do, keep the rain out of my eyes.
As a rule, I don't mind running in the rain either, I just really hope it's dry while we're hanging around at the start, once we're off and running then it doesn't matter so much.
Not sure if you guys follow the updates on the official website, but this is worth knowing....
The £6 pass sent with your pack applies to the Recreation Ground car park near the finish and the Leisure Centre car park. The two provide ample space. The pass does not apply to parking in the Town Centre or to the multi-storey opposite the Holiday Inn. The park and ride in the north of the town does not open until 9.30.
Don't park in the wrong place, and come back to a parking ticket to spoil your day!
Nice to see Mick n Phil doing this one. Really looking forward to it now after watching VLM. Good luck everyone. Will be the 5th time i've done this one.

Apparently you had to do it by the 11th of April.
If you want to contact them, and see if they will let you transfer, let me know.
Yup, not long to go now
tapering in progress
Advanced road warning signs are already in place
Hey Mick n Phil, not spoken to you on a forum for years..how are you both? Are you doing the full or the Half?
Any advanced 'nice weather for the 29th' signs going up??

Hello BR
were ok ish thanks
seeking out the full, got to see how my fitness is - and my ( benign ) prostate holds out
ive not been on forums much as i thought everyone would be fed up of me TBH

Can't stop thinking about it now lol. Just a couple of light runs and maybe a bit of swimming this week.
How many marathons you done Ian? Just out of interest
Glad the knee is holding up, adrenaline on the day should numb any pain
Same plan for me now, 6 and a 4 maybe, with a couple of quicker miles in the middle of the 6.
And plenty of time this week spent on marathon website memorising the route etc rather than working...
my number is 3831 - not sure what I'm going to wear, probably weather dependent, which at the moment is looking pretty wet & windy
I don't have any proper wet weather gear, might need to spend some pennies this week to get some......
I'll be in shorts and vest whatever the weather!
I can live with rain, rather it rain than be to hot
Any idea how many are doing the full?
1123 entries according to the website.

Hi Nick, any logistical tips/advice you can offer based on your experiences, that are specific to Stratford and it's peculiarities?
Can anyone recommend a nice pub for lunch and a few beers afterwards?!
just checked the weather forecast, rainy with wind gusting up to 37mph
And in your face for the last 5-6 miles.
ouch......
