I managed just over 2 hours which considering I haven't run more than 8 miles since last October I was well pleased. Another well organised run well done everyone involved even squashed start was no problem I love this race.
Well done to you as well your time is something I can only dream of still onwards and upwards I want to try to do a half every onth this year to get faster hopefully
Gaz WELL BLOODY DONE!! You smashed it lad! You must be chuffed!? My friend (who ironically I have trained up...) did it in 1.40.47. GUTTED!
Damn, just went to enter Wrexham and it is full - anyone know of any flattish HMs in Feb? Not too far from Cheshire? I'm on a roll... Plus good marathon prep. I do have Blackpool booked for March so not too bothered if I don't find anything.
Very good race, well organised. I am going to join Helsby Running Club this week, have ran with them once and loved it but hard to pin me down to a definite day to run (3 young daughters) but I think to get my dream of a 1.30-1.35 HM time, I need that push.
That was ace. The pace was good. The hills challenging, but not too tough. The wind was ace. The post race burger was ace (I was terribly tempted to get one before the start, and think my burger cravings might have helped me round and get my first sub 1:40). And the two pints in the Helsby Arms after were ace (although dear). Next year I'll bring enough coin for a few more.
Official photos are on Mick Hall. I look like I am about to pull a knife from my Milk Tray man head to toe black ninja outfit and slash the photographer across his bollocks. Not one for the family album....
Thanks Russell - however I am doing the other Blackpool half in March, 2 trips to Blackpool in 4 weeks would cause Mr HO2 a coronary. To be honest, today I feel like shit, I think 6 Half Marathons in 6 months is a lot for a novice like me. Will do some good training in Feb and hope to nail a 1.40 in March.
Great event, really enjoyed the route. Very nearly didn't go due to having a cold, glad I did though as I broke the 2 hour mark (only done 1 half before in Oxford in 2hr4)

1.31.55 .. I'll take that all day long. 31secs away from PB...
Could anyone post any links to race photos up please? So far I've found the odd one on Facebook. Would be nice to get them all into one thread.
Well done everyone. What a great race!
