Events Around Manchester ?

I've searched the events pages and can't find anything, but does anybody know of any 10k to Half Marathon distance events around Manchester, (within an hours drive) this side of Christmas ?

I'm planning to head over for a long weekend to see my mum, but would like to do an event as well.

I can't believe there's nothing suitable before Christmas.

Stockport 10 mile race is on the 11th december.... I'm in for the 1st time, I believe it is tough but fun with a legendary goodie bag

Lancaster Half on 6th November is within an hours drive if you have easy motorway access. Did it last year and quite a pleasant run but not much of a goody bag, unless I was too slow and they had run out.
