The Vitruvian 2012

Message on Pacesetter website today says:

We will make announcements through Twitter and our Paceletter newsletter sometime in the next day or so.

Apparently sold out in 33 hours last year.  So if the first to see that entry has opened would be so kind as to put it up here it would be much appreciated. image

Will (hopefully) be my first attempt at this race.

  • What Date is it DK or has that not been released yet?
  • Saturday 8 September.

Apaprently they will announce opening of registration through their Twitter feed, but I am not a Twitter user (not interesting enough to have that much to say about myself!)

  • *lurks* image
  • Hmm... No.

    Don't do it JEvaNs.

    I won't!

    Good.

*covers face with hands, but peeps through fingers*
  • Go home JEvaNs!!! There's NOTHING to see here image
  • Pringles anyone?

    <twiddles thumbs waiting for news>

  • humm just had to sign up for twitter, can't miss this one!
  • Update from Pacesetter:

Pace Setter Events are pleased to confirm we have now updated the website for the forthcoming 2012 season and are accepting online and postal entries for the Dambuster Duathlon and the Dambuster Triathlon.

Entries for the Vitruvian Triathlon are currently restricted to Credit Note Postal applications from athletes who have current valid credit notes from 2011 and ActionAid Charity Entries which will be made available to the first 25 applicants (for details of charity entries please see info below).

Normal online and postal entries for the Vitruvian will be opening in the next couple of weeks and will be advertised in the next Paceletter and on Twitter.

  • Hmm only 3 weeks after Midnightman, decisions decisions!!!

    Both ????

  • entered Dambuster...come on open entries up for Vit...drums fingers on desk
  • Would the Dambuster Triathlon be to close to Outlaw?

Its virtually on my doorstep and i love biking round that area.

  • you have 5 weeks between JCD - no sweat. build Dambuster into the training schedule and use it as a good test of transition and nutrition.
  • Just 2 weeks as Outlaw brought forward in 2012.  Very close - I would be tapering myself.
  • is it 2 weeks? must have looked at this year's date!

still doable - use it as the last heavy training session- it's only (approx) a 1/4 IM. it's a good test as to how training has gone but under race conditions
  • Doh!  I was thinking it was a half IM not an Oly.

I agree with FB, an Oly should be fine as you would undoubetdly be doing more than 2 1/2 or so hours anyhow.

  • not that I am looking, but it look like entries are open....?
  • oh, take it back.there isn't a registration button

(but its made me realise I want to do this!)
  • <sends JEvaNs to the norty step for making my heart jump and getting me excited>

  • Following this may or may not help you http://twitter.com/#!/pacesetterevent
  • Hm. I Tried Twitter when I first saw this thread and I don't get it. I feel very technologically backward these days image
  • How did I know you were going to say that? image Go to the pacesetters website, sign up for their newsletter and you'll be one of the first few thousand to know.

Someone will invariably post on here as soon as entries go on sale. Vit sold out in about 1.5 days last year so you need to be quick but it's not a matter of hours. Last year on Twitter Pacesetters also resold all the places of people that had withdrawn so your chances of getting a place are good!

  • Now on the "enter events" tab but showing as closed, can only be a matter of days unti, it opens!  Looks like one lucky sole has managed to enter if you click on confirmed entries.

I really should have engaged my brain before putting my Outlaw entry in this week.

    (Thank you Mr Visa image)

  • image At least we have 10 months to pay it off!  Just £10 a month will do it.  Hope it is worth it!
  • *wibble* image
  • yes it's worth it. i'm in as well.
  • it won't let me enter!!!image
