Our results don't count, sadly, as we didn't have a team of four.
Pix and Hippo, you've both said you didn't have a team to walk in I guess there may be others waiting for someone to invite them too - probably more than four!
Why not ask people to join you and organise your own team for next year?

But it's alot of training to undertake between now and then!
1. the whole group moves at the same speed
2. if the slower person can move faster they will - no-one wants to let their group down
3. the slow person is not left behind - they lose marks for that
4. morale is better when everyone works together
The photos of the Gurkha teams always shows them as a tight-knit group.
It seems to me (echoing my post of a year ago), that if anyone is attempting a fast Trailwalk attempt for next year, that they should train together as team of four, with particular emphasis on working together as a team.
Choosing people of similar ability would help (it is hard and painful to walk slower or faster than natural pace), but awareness of group dynamics seems just as important.
We used a similar arrangement for our slowest person to help pull him up the hills.

I will confess I'm a little soft on TW 2005. But I'll insist on a team that want to do it at my pace.
