Mine has been packed up and will get it to the PO on Friday.  As far as I can see the only reference to who it's from is on the outside of the return envelope.  Be interesting to see what comes back.

I've sent mine back. the fast forward doesn't work but otherwise it functions. Would be nice to get a latest gen one back

Already authorised, got my envelope and now on it's way back to Apple. As long as it is a 1st generation Nano, it can be replaced.

Just a quick update, read on an Apple forum that you get a 6th Gen Nano as your replacement !!!

had my replacement authorised and they sent me the bag etc to send it back and not heard a peep. seems like it was ages ago but prob no more than 6 weeks. still, beginning to get itchy about it.

Check with the Apple forums. LOADS despatched already and many in Europe and the UK been delivered.

All being replaced with an 8Gb 6th gen version - NICE

Just checked the status on mine- I opened the repair request on 15 Nov, they received the unit on 15 Dec (stage 1), issue identified (stage 2) and status is now 'product replacement pending' (stage 3) (all in the same day).  So I'll just have to sit on my hands then...

Mine is the same status. Although they apparently received, processed and put it at this status all on the same day, 21st Dec. Which is odd because I posted it back to them on the 7th!

Mac forums suggest that you get an email about 2 days before you receive your replacement (whatever that turns out to be!).

My problem is that I actually used mine, and had loads of accessories for it - two different sports armbands, a nice pretty Kipling case - bet they're worth about £70 altogether. They're now useless, and I need to buy new cases/armbands/screen protectors!! Humph.

Ah Len - I used mine too but the case split and for the rest of the run I had to put it in my clothing. It was never quite the same after that, so when the chance came to send it back I had little to lose.

The replacement probably won't be any bigger so could you not stuff your old holder or put a couple of stitches in so it fits the new thing?

Hi Guys, just had email from Apple, should get my replacement within 2 days !

Will update as soon as I get my hands on my Nano (6th Gen with a bit of luck !!!)

I don't think the 6th gen will fit in my cases, Fido, I think it's a smidge wider?

Funny Hat - did you get a serial number on the email? If you did, you can check it on the apple website and you can work out what it is, and whether it's new or refurbed!

All the replacements are 6th gen nano's all over the world. Quite a few trickling into the UK now according to the Apple forums.

Got it, A new 6th GEN, 8GB,  which is good as my old one was only 2GB !

You only get the Nano, not even instructions, not that you need them.   Comes well packaged and was delivered by UPS.

got mine the other day too. will get it cranked up this weekend. unfortunately I bought a Creative Zen after the original Nano went on the blink and so now have to really donate the new nano to Missus W. which also means I'll have to install itunes on her user account and then put bad music on it for her.
