I'm still a bit concerned about this distance. I'm doing Edinburgh marathon at the end of May and I'm wondering if this distance is too early for me in my training. I don't want to burn myself out and there is so much conflicting advice......can anyone help????
Hello all- looking forward to this First 20 miller for me and quite nervous Vlm in April so fits well with my training Figure need some company to keep me going although don't think will be doing it at marathon pace
Can I please ask - as Race Entry Co-ordinator - that if anyone is thinking of swapping numbers that they message me on here by Thursday lunchtime.
Running under someone else's name is risky on H&S grounds and also I think against UKA rules.
I know there are quite a lot of disappointed people out there but the closing date has been advertised from the start and the race has been live since well before Christmas.
Have fun whatever you do......I'm stuck at home with a sprained ankle from training in the snow . I'd have stayed in and kept warm if I 'knew this would happen!

Been there and done that twice Jennie, downhill on dry grass and again on a stoney path, Iknow your pain.
Thanks ,just hoping it's ok for Hastings half ! Marathon is not til the end of May so don't actually need to run this 20 miler yet, but there are so few races of this length !
The marshalls were as always the best. Great goodie bag too... Thanks to everyone who put this on together - another Thanet success.... How you managed to arrange a 21 minute PB I really don't know, particuarly on what has become an interesting but undulating course...
Top race! Many thanks to the organisers. Got to agree about the marshalls, loads of them, andd all very cheerful considering that they had been standing around in the cold, wind and drizzle for hours!
Cheers TRR, excellent job, I enjoyed the course even more than I did in 2009.
I hope those that I passed after mile 17 on their way out didn't get too wet or cold, it looked like the weather was getting progressively worse after midday?
Well done Thanet RAC excellent course, enjoyed every minute (I had a lot to enjoy), very challenging well worth the trip down. Marshalls made it all worth while, and most would have been frozen/wet by the end - Well done. also thanks to the organisers.

you can get changed in the school hall. Toilets will be portaloos outside. There are also public toilets down at the start.
Deadline for entries is next Saturday - entries received after this will be returned.

Hi Everyone
Entries are now CLOSED and we won't be taking entries on the day.
Let's hope for a day like today - Thanet looks gorgeous in the sunshine!

Thorough enjoyed it. Great support from the marshals and lack of iPod actually made for a really friendly race
+1 on the above.

Well done all and thanks for the kind words - the weather did get worse but thankfully not as bad as today!
Could I just mention that my envelope only contained my number, no instructions of any sort.
I haven't read any other comments like that so perhaps it was a one off, at least I knew where I was going anyway.
See you later in the year for the Coastal 1/2.
