Do as I say not as I do..... dont forget I am nearly in treble figures with these jogettes so know what my ageing body can do and cant do, you are a mere stripling and will do as you is told
I have had a message from Mr Prune to attempt some Km repeats - which I shall do in just a moment. *wibble* See, look - here's me, going out the door...
Massive Garmin malfunction - all human error, too ; I set up a workout of 6K repeats with 5min recoveries, but obviously set it up wrong, as after the first interval, it asked me to do the next one straight away! Clearly, I had set it to do 6x1K efforts, followed by 6x5min recoveries instead of 6x1K efforts with 5 min recoveries. Oops.
So I had to record each repeat as a seperate run. From my hodge podge of data, I get this information for the Km repeats:
nowt slow about that .... we shall do a few more next week
HR seems a bit up but if you say you felt slow and heavy maybe you are not over all of the ick yet.... recovery run of about 8 tomorrow at a steady pace please then we might do something short and sharp friday before having Saturday off and doing 21k on Sunday at a fair old lick
yes but you lost a whole two weeks whilst you were ick,,,,,,,
I want you to go and enjoy your run tomorrow five miles of fun... do what you want.. few sprints, chase cars, run backwards.... get some of the enjoyment back because I want you to bleed from the eyeballs in Liverpool,,,,,
So five not eight? Could do a slow one into work and a play run home?
I know I'm being negative, it's just been a bit of a naff day at work and I'm feeling down about Liverpool, too - I just don't think it'll be speedy. Sorry.
Good luck this w/e mate - hopefully you will be getting back to your best shortly
No firm target really - The McMillan calculater tells me I should be running my LSR anywhere between 8.10 and 9.10 m/m - I suspect I'll be somwhere near the higher end of that range on Sunday. I'm keeping everything crossed that it goes well and I stay fit as I had to defer last year with Gilmores Groin.
really..... personally I would have a cut back run... 16 or 17 then hit 20 agin next week but then I dont know what else you have in the diary,,,,, too many consecutive long ones can do more damage than good especially if you are not used to them, even I keep mine 10 days apart
I shall let the Hobbit tell you what she has done today........

so there it is
rest day today, if anyone sees me doing anything strenuous please stop me
and <cough> I did 6 x 1000m last night, contrary to advice from Womble

I still feel slow and heavy and generally a bit rubbish.

5 min warn up..... nice and steady
1 min flat out
3 mins rest/jog recovery
repeat x 5
5 min warm down
So you can take Bear to the park and make him chase you

Will do, Plum
Good luck with the Parkrun and 20, Ricky - any targets in mind?
