only an occasional visitor to these parts, but just wanted to extend the hand of MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to Rosey for his result this weekend - bumped into him several times over the weekend, including on the bike course - a top man, top racer and deserves all he gets - great work on a tough old day.
and you sir are a gent awesome effort with truespirit, anyone want to read about Wiganers race, pop across to tritalk. Hope to catch up soon matey.
My brother did this on Sunday and I spent the day cheering him, and everyone else on.....what an amazing/incredible/heroic/awesome bunch of athletes you all are!!!
I'm totally in awe of what an achievement it is to do an Ironman - words are just not enough!
Anyway - I was on the village green in Rivington for the cycle part and then along a stretch of road opposite Poundstretchers in Bolton fo rthe run. I cheered on the pirates that I saw (Woody - I pretty much know you were one of them!) I hope you are recovering well now. Massive, massive Congratulations to each and every one that took part - What an amazing day!!!
Cheers for the support Mandie, the village green was fantastic, I recall shouts of pirate support in the area in town you mention and recovery is going well thanks.
The support on Sunday was second to none, you all need congratulating for making it such a great day for everyone taking part. It has been said that it's the first UK Ironman to have a truly European feel. Well done to you and everyone out there for making it so
Bloody good read. Thanks for sharing. Especially liked the bit about you getting your elbows out with Eimar Mullen to max your air-time. Hope you did your zip up to show the sponsor's logo for that bit! Congrats again. Chuffed for you.
hehe, they were looking at my bum so lets see eh ?
And thanks.
There is a tv piece on IMUK on Sunday morning on CH4 at about 6.30 that is based around Rebecca Romero, I know her boyfriend so we were chatting on the way to the water so I might get on that too
Massive CONGRATS to everyone who completed the Ironman UK in Bolton last week! Although I wasn't a competitor (you guys are crazy!!) I was lucky enough to not only watch the run part of the event on Chorley New Road, I was also lucky enough to treat some of you guys at the Expo in the Reebok Stadium in the upcoming days. I was there showcasing my own Sports Physio Clinic (which is on Chorley New Road ) and with the fab RockTape.
I saw one of the girls competing sobbing on the 1st, 2nd and (again still sobbing) 3rd leg of the run and felt so sorry for her but good on her! She finished it!!
I hope one day I can complete one of the crazy Ultra Endurance distances
Well done guys, two third places, awesome!!!! Never read a shorter report, Woody, lol. Great report from you Rosey. So nice to read about folk at the pointy end doing so well. Good luck for Kona!
