The 2012 Outlaw Bike Feedstation/Support Thread

Just picked up my new runners for the Edinburgh Marathon, Asics Gel Nimbus 13's in Black and Yellow, might be another potential option for footwear at pirate feed station... must order a t-shirt from shop and rip arms off  - i'm planning to camp, need to get new tent though, suspect that all camp gear is MIA (two scouts in the house and things never make it back!)

getting excited about camping... has anyone camped there before? knows setup or what facilities are like? don't really want to have to bring more stuff than to sleep and make a cuppa - hoping food can be "procured" locally or stolen if necessary

Have got a battery operated glitter ball and speakers for an MP3, quick trip to maplin for some battery LEDs and i'll be in business (errr.. not for the feedstation per se, i'm sure you appreciate)

Wasn't someone meant to be bringing stripper pole, hot tub and light up dance floor in the main thread? or has that idea been abandoned in favour of far more "sensible" hotel staying - personally if I was racing i think the hotel staying and avoiding anyone not racing until post sunday night would probably a good idea

In all seriousness here, can someone look into local pizza delivery places. Delivery to feed station about 10 minutes before I pass through.

I'm thinking this a lower health risk than me stuffing some food in to my special needs bag the day before, so that my egg sandwiches fester nicely on the sun.

depends on where feedstation is as to whether or not logistically possible?

 Alternative....

 On saturday order pizza

1. Cut sides off pizza and eat leaving a "strip down the middle"
2. Spread garlicky dip across top of strip
3. Roll strip like a swiss roll facilitated by some cling film
4. Twisting ends to compress "pizza sausage"
5. insert "pizza" sausage in 750ml storage bottle container
6. Carry on bike, open container, bite cling film
7. Eat as required, re-insert in storage container if can't be eaten in one go

I'm actually thinking of seriousy trying this when my turn comes....

just a thought.... buy a load of storage bottles, make a load of pizza sauasages and then dish them out at the feedstation?

I wonder if there's a market for this?

heehee - I've just read this whole thread thinking - for some unknown reason - that "gastank" would be pronounced in the German way (guh-shtunk) rather than as the far more logical "gas tank". No idea why.

I've had some kebabs where they used a huge naan bread covered in meat and garlic sauce, rolled up in a big sausage. Mmmm.

I wonder if there is a market for pizza or kebab flavoured gels?  Or I suppose you could just liquidise them to put in a bottle and drink up with a straw.

Raf ..... Cos' it's pizza of course, also experience tells me burrito will be too wet and tortilla may not go the distance so to speak?
