Wet Shoes

My run shoes seem to take forever to dry....and there is nothing worse than putting damp shoes on before a run.

How do you dry your shoes?

What's the best way to dry em?

  • Newspaper in them and leave in a warm place. Sorted.
  • Newspaper + Airing cuboard
  • Not on a radiator then?? is that bad for the shoe?
  • I put mine under the radiator rather than on it - they still dry in time.
  • What about if you run to work and your shoes get soaked, i hate running home in wet shoes.....how to dry them at work??

  • Newspaper. Change after 15 minutes, then do the same every few hours. Works a treat. Also take the insoles out to dry separately.

    Brian.
  • Newspaper and leave them near a radiator. If you can be bothered to change the paper it speeds it along.

You can buy fancy feet shaped dryer things but I don't really see the need.

Have 2 pairs on the go and alternate them so they have longer to dry.

Don't worry about it - if it's wet out then you'll only have a slight discomfort for a minute or two longer than you would anyway!
  • Dehumidifier probably the best way, though a bit pricey just to dry shoes image

No heat from the dehumidifier so no damage and dries way quicker than newspapers etc, probably in a couple of hours when the dry air is aimed at hanging trainers

Really? You can think of nothing worse? MTFU
  • out on back door steps if sunny
  • Rotate between two pairs of shoes.  Gives the wet pair extra time to dry, and as long as you don't give up running it will still offer value for money.
