I went as a spectator last year and it was cold cold cold, but this year i'm running it

great news that you have you got your number for Silverstone and lets hope the weather is kind for runners AND spectators this year..
Did anyone out there miss the boat for Silverstone this year because we at Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) still have a couple of our charity places left...
Last year our helicopter made an unplanned trip to Silverstone... Seasoned runner Bob Boswell had finished in a PB but about 20 minutes later collapsed suffering from a heart attack. Our doctor on board and the treatment we gave at the scene combined with the speed we could fly him to a specialist unit meant that Bob is back running again.. albeit not so far and with cardio rehab twice a week.
Bob said: "It was the most terrible moment of my life and I thought I was going to die. I thought our air ambulance was funded by the NHS but when I realised that WNAA was a charity and relied on donations I started raising funds for them.. just as soon as I was well enough."
