26.2 miles in the Peak District

This is a 26.2 mile challenge walk with over 5000 feet of ascent, starting and finishing in the White Peak village of Alstonefield - in its 2nd year....anyone interested? Bring food for ducks...

  • sorry I should have mentioned that it is a walk and run.

Last year, it attracted quite a few fell runners so if you like offroad, hills and stunning scenery and don't mind getting sheep poo on your shoes.. this one's for you. The route is on the link below.
Limit is 330 and locals provide refreshments and encouragement.

    Route is below
WARNING – The Leaden Boot Challenge is an event held on a specific day each year. On this day, there are several manned checkpoints, marshalls at various points around the course and dozens of brightly coloured direction arrows helping participants to follow the route. The instructions below have been written with this in mind. Therefore, if they are used at any other time please take the precaution of carrying OS Explorer Map OL24 and a compass to assist you.
