+1 to what ST said about short sleeves and the charity shop fleece. I am more of a long shorts person than a 3/4 but not long as there's a real danger of overheating even though it's rainy (which it won't be).
I would take some glove too. Either a cheapie pair you can discard if you're not used to running in gloves or a proper running lightweight pair which you can stash in your bumbag/bra if need be.
Binbag to wear at the start to keep dry too. Do not be stashing that in your bra for later
Enjoy your stroll with the tapir SC. I am back at work for a couple of hours.
Lady I - previously I would always have recommended shorts and a vest. But after my experiences in Paris at the weekend, I wouldn't have felt overdressed in a t-shirt and 3/4 length leggings - in fact I would have been more comfortable. It looks like the weather may be similar in London. I wouldn't go with long sleeves though, unless you're planning to be out there for a very long time.
I posted this on the main supporters' thread, but you can have your own Grope 2 version too, because you're special . Here's where we'll be on the day.
At about 16 and three quarter miles there's a sharp left turn at the Lord Nelson pub, and you start to head back towards the towers of Canary Wharf. We're a few hundred meters up the road. Last year we were on the right hand side - in the picture, if you can see the pelican crossing, we were just before there. Of course, there will be banners, balloons, and people bouncing up and down on the day .
Could I ask you to post that picture on all the Group threads please RR. There are always loads who say they never saw us but short of dancing naked in the road I am not sure how much more ovbious we could be.
Great pic, I can visualise it now... although I've never noticed Canary Wharf when I've trundled through 17 before. Perhaps it was the anticipation of, and then the reality of the welcome!
I don't like this tapir lark, my calves hurt and I get a blt emotional as I'm a sensitive soul. Last little run at lunchtime today - 4.25 miles at supposed mara pace. Only 2 mins per quicker, no wonder I felt sh*t.
TP - I tried to post that pic of us from last year but it wouldn't let me!
Evenin all - just checking that someone from Support Group 2 will be collecting suitably labelled bag of goodies from Expo. Otherwise will have to resort to plan B - .
RR - many thanks for the reassurance - otherwise I'd have to be eating a lot of choccys and miscellaneous treats intended for the support crew - am well on track for a pw as it is without adding extra ballast .
We'll be there BBH, your Strongbow will be in safe hands.
I meant that the small pert arse would be on ME. Gawjuss though SC and TT are I know you're both spoken for so I am hoping for one of my own to attract similar attention.
Thank you everyone for the advice on clothing. I did all my long runs in Spain, the 20 miler was at23/25 degrees, so I didn't need long sleeves at all. (Was a bit knackered at the end of that one actually). I think I'll do 3/4 length and short sleeves. I've got a disposable plastic poncho to wear before the start 99p bargain! I'll have a think about gloves, I've got a thin pair I could use, but my hands seem to get unusually hot anyway! RR Thank you for that excellent photo. That will be a great help.
I am one of life's cold hands/warm heart individuals so gloves are a priority for me but go with what you;re comfy with Lady I.
You might want to still think about a cheap fleece for the start, there's potentially 45 mins between handing in your bag and the off and if it's cold something on top of your short sleeve shirt will preserve your body heat. The poncho is an execllent idea
I, of course, will be full length sleeves and legs. De rigeur for the Guiness World Record but not recommended for anyone with an ounce of common sense Up to £3750 on the fundraising so £5K a serious possibility http://www.justgiving.co.uk/macmillantagbvlm for those who haven't been victimised yet
Just back from hairdresser. Bit of a textured cut going on, streamlined and ready to go. No more ancillary bits to do. Bit of displacement actvity needed tho. Teaching for two hours tonight so that'll help. Why have we been relegated to page two of Hot threads behind 1,6 and even 3? Not on, not on. 10a.m. meeting then of to work in the valleys. I'll pop back before I disappear and check on our elevating status in the heat department. TP do ypou honestly sleep the night before?
Bag of goodies packed, little Bear dressed, Big Bear dressed, passport located, form filled in. Just a bit of shoopping to do before leaving for Expo .
Lots of pasta bought for carb-loading dinner on Saturday - we have visitors staying from New Zealand for one night only on Saturday and they have been warned that it's pasta all the way

Delivering signs to expo for you tomorrow.
As for dancing naked is that madatory

TP - your wish is my command.
Oooh, can I wish for Sean Bean, a lottery win and a small pert arse then?
Cheers TT.
BBH - no worries. A chance to spend time in a huge aircraft hangar full of overpriced running stuff I don't need? Of course I'll be at the Expo!
Don't worry - the people picking up will collect stuff for all the groups and we'll sort it out once we get to Mudchute.
Trust me, if I could magic up Sean Bean I'd spend a lot less time on these forums!
