So I don't pretend to be the most sartorially knowledgable person and am very under-qualified to comment in this space, but...c'mon....it's not good.
I'm genuinely v v excited about the Olympics and will be glued to the telly. And I get lumps in my throat and teary eyed when I see athletes performing to their best and achieving their dreams. But standing on the podium in an insipid blue strip which is missing the red bit of of our red, white and blue flag is all wrong.
The pic on the BBC sport website says it all - our greatest sports stars are all looking decidedly glum and faintly embarrassed to be wearing it.
Maybe it will grow on me?

more worried about the balls up we'll most likely make of the whole thing
I agree, it's awful
It looks like they're either representing Scotland or Finland rather than Britain! I don't think it represents England or Wales at all.
bloody thing won't create a link
As someone said on Facebook - it even manages to make Jess Ennis look very plain (the tshirt/capri outfit that is, not the skimpies). It's horrid! Imagine training so hard that you achieve your 'colours' and then you don't even get to wear them!
It's bloody awful, are we ashamed of the Britsh flag or something? Can you see the USA chopping the Stars and Stripes into quarters and then leaving out one of the colours? No, me neither.
Let's hope the sport is fantastic because the design work has been fecking dire from the logo to the big pile of scrap steel outside the Olympic Stadium.
Aye.
The only nation who holds the Olympics who's scared to celebrate their national flag.
What a bunch of washed up self-hating twats we are in this fucking country
it's an absolute f****** disgrace .... Stella Macartney should hand her head in shame, but won't as its art innit, and its to make them look 'cool' ... NO Stella you feckwit it's not, its to show that they are representing their country, and THAT does not represent our country.
I feel its actually going to cast a shadow over the whole event (yes yes I know a little overdramatic) but I just can't see the sight of that kit powering through the field inspiring me in the same way the red white and blue does (for a start it'll be hard to figure it out anyway).
Sorry, for some reason feel really really strongly about this abomination !
True but I think I'm right in saying that it did have USA in big red letters on the chest - so it was still really eyecatching.
We are the hosts - our kit should be in-your-face colourful!
Yes, in the past the kit hasn't necessarily featured the flag at all, except as a small emblem like a club badge, but has been something like red and blue hoops on a white background.
I agree that if you are having a representation of the flag it should be in the right sodding colours
