37.28 - Big new PB, but felt dreadful and my pacing was all over the place.. How did your mara go?
Well done! I Found this race difficult last year, especially with the wind & gravel. My mara was 3:12. A bit slower, but given the horrible conditions & starting quite a way back from the front being late, it was a reasonable result.
Muttley - this was a club championship event for Datchet and we've had influx of fast runners, so as a result I was nowhere!
This race certainly used to be run under a UKA permit as they have my 2010 time on Power of 10. They don't have last year's time though, so maybe they didn't register it with UKA. Not surprised - it's far easier with ARC.
My first time doing this one and really enjoyed it, the rain didnt bother me at all. Got a PB too, not as fast as all you speedy runners (well done impressive times) but got 48:50 so I am delighted as I wanted sub 50! My last 10k time was 54:57 and that was only in Feb. Not sure why but I am not down on the results though, I do remember as I came over the finish line I stopped suddenly (naughty me, I know you are suppose to keep walking) and the poor bloke behind me nearly crashed into me (sorry) so maybe they didnt get my number? Has this happnened to anyone else?
They appear to have altered the results - I've gone down a place although my time hasn't changed. But I know I just pipped someone on the line, so something is still wrong as I have the same time as the lady in front of me and the lady behind me should have the same time as me, or a second slower.
Indeed, it does say memento. I would have to either take some time off or move my shift on the day. I use my Shinfield 10K mug from last year at work but truth be told, I would prefer a gong, even a cheap one ... so might turn up on the day, might not.
I'd prefer a medal too but the alternative was the new sheruns ladies 10k in Windsor which costs over £20 AND they want to charge you an extra £5 to send you your number & chip or you have to collect it from the expo before the event. I feel they've confused themselves with the London marathon so decided to do Shinfield again instead. I'm guessing it will be another mug, but much better value for money.

Datchet did well, didn't they?
Helly - I remember your club vest, I had it in view for much of the race but couldn't quite overhaul it
Ah 18th.. pleased after my terrible splits. Was almost crying across that field.
Cheers for the pdf.
I did this one today and ran just behind a Hart Road Runner lady most of the way.

No just you

Grovelling apologies, you are quite right. I was quoting from the flier that came with my race number in the post.
Still an enjoyable event, all the same.
Have entered again this year. This year they say mementos
Unfortunately I have to work on Monday 6th May. Enjoy your memento

But this thread is about last year's event ...
It's about the 2013 event now
