Thanks Spoons, was with Kerry Davies from Tri-Anglia. It was brilliant.
Felt an improvement already, from something as simple as changing the way my hands cut into the water. Ive altered my IM training plan to incorporate this session as one of my swims.
He's doing this on Tuesday evenings as well, i'll give it a go in a couple of weeks.
"The Turbo/run sessions are going to start to become more of a turbo specific sessions with still a small amount of brick running and core work.
The Turbo session will be a fully coached sessions targeting Gearing, Heart Rate, Cadence and also making your bike position more efficient (with adjustments during the session)
To get the full benefit out of the session it is recommended to bring HR monitors, cadence sensors."
Swimmings at Norwich high school for girls, turbo session is at city academy near the uea. Club membership is around ??17 per year, all coached sessions are ??3
2.15 in the gym for me today ... Row/bike/cross trainer and a bit of weights/core thrown in It was warmer in the gym than at home so I could have stayed for a long bike
Nice going SD, M.eldy and Cat. Cat you have to hate those intervals, always makes me feel like puking, but I guess that means that you put in the effort. For a fun alternative I like to do them on hills, that did make me spew last time
30 min run tonight for me 4.5 miles, v icey should have worn spikes
I hate them with a passion. I've been spending too much time on 400s recently, so trying to bang out 800s at the same pace really hurt. Bile starts to rise by 350m and it's a case of keeping it down . I wanted to give up after 2 reps but pushed on through.
My club does hill session but they always lump them in with lunges, which always breaks something.
ouch, a good fun work out when I was doing a little bit of crossfit was 3 x 400m walking lunges, stairs or standing up from sitting was very hard after that and it kills when you keep cracking your knee on the tarmac, I think I had a bruised bone for ages after that
4 mile run this morning...certainly wakes you up in this weather!! Then 2500m in the pool this evening, followed by 1 hour spinning, then 30 mins on the dreadmill! If it sunny tomorrow, might go out and play on the bike
One hour beasting in the pool tonight at FitSwim, reckon I swam at least 1600m. For me that's a real achievement, so feeling very upbeat. Maybe I'll make that 2:20 cut-off after all....
Comments
Ditto on that one
Swimming lesson with trianglia for me tonight
The club has also been given 3 VLM tickets so I'm in the draw for that now. May need to adjust the Fink plan to accomodate the marathon training now
Gents, what do you wear under running tights (if anything)? Recommendations?
Good luck with the swim training SD. Is it with Simon Brierley?

Simon does the Thursday sessions.
2 hours for me, swim and row/bike/run in the gym
Swimming is all about small changes for big improvements IMO
Good work SD. You'll see massive improvements. Simon was head coach in my swim club for a while and taught me a lot.
E.g. - to run more and give up swimming!

Sounds good. Is this all in Norwich? Maybe I should start going...
Just been for a little 2.5 mile run/skate while my daughter had her piano lesson. -1 & a bit icy out there.
Lovely at lunch, apart from the ice .
Track reps run on the road. 6 x 800m with 90s rest in between. 3min per rep. Bloody hard, but got there in the end!

I've been working from home recently, in a skull cap and gloves. I refuse to put the heating on in the day!
Turbo tomorrow evening, but Mrs Cat will have heated the house up, so I'll need to open all the windows and doors first!

16 x 400s off 45 seconds for me. Cold out there.
Good swimming Spoons
