Beautiful day here in the Thames Valley. Managed a early pre work swim and then a 45 min jog along the river at lunch. Sooooo wonderful to run under a blue sky with a warm(ish) Sun on the face. Shame the weather is set to turn by the weekend.
NR - Yep to the foam roller being painful. Stick with it though. It's honestly worth it
Thank you all, I was very suprised, hope it just means that I'm getting generally fitter ready for the harder training to com before outlaw.
IronDonkey, yes beautiful day here too, hope its like it tomorrow, I think it may still be a little cold to get out the pool in a tri suit and do the planned 30miles, think i may get changed.
Brick for me this afternoon. Just over an hour on the bike, and I managed several times to have a drink on the move , then a 30 min run. Longer session planned for tomorrow, rest day Thursday, swim Friday, long bike Sat, long run Sun.
Ran back from work today dang me it's surprisingly warm today, had to stop and take my base layer off and roll my tights up . Been out on my mtb just now, and hunted a copy of the new Tomb Raider game for Mr Frag, it'll help take his mind off the ManFlu he's suffering from
Did a 5k time trial with running club last night, didn't get to do one at the end of last season so was not sure what to expect with all the low heart rate training that's been done this year to date. It was on a running track so perfect conditions, but broke the 20 mins so really chuffed. 18:43 - very suprised
Doing a DIY olympic distance tom with some of the RC should be fun.
I swam today, various drills and paddles and tying my feet together which was interesting The aim for Thursday is for 3.8k cnotinual and see what tmie I can do ..... answers on a postcard to the usual address
kettlebells done - man it's hard work and there were loads of bicep curls tonight, sp won't be able to lift anything heavier than a cup of tea tomorrow!
Thats a coincidence Melds. At my coached swim session last night the guy running the session video'd my leg kicks. It wasnt pretty.
He said my pull with the arms needed to be stronger & to try swimming with a pull bouy just below the knees to isolate my leg movement. My legs just sank after half a length. Told me to practise this to increase my stroke strength.
I wouldn't - a minute faster than Outlaw! After some stalking I reckon a 1:10 would be more likely. 1:07 would be nice but I don't know how busy your pool is.
As for me. A day off with Man Flu and perhaps a day on the sofa wrapped in a duvet with Halo 4, Tomb Raider or that newish Bond film I've not quite got round to watching.
I swear I was reading about one of the pro ladies recently in the long distance who claimed they train through anything that doesn't require bed rest. The article spoke of the lady coughing and snotting her way through a 5k swimm session without a hint of a moan or a winge.
feeling tired today, and not sure whether it's a case of I worked hard yesterday and my muscles ache, or a coming down with the man-flu muscle ache have a su=inusy headache building so may avoid the pool, and just do my planned run instead.
mr Frag is enjoying the new Tomb Raider - but it doesn'y seem to have got rid of his man-flu; and No2 son is off school with earache and the snuffles.. I'm doomed I tell ya!

I expect the manflu will last a little longer now he has tomb raider to finish
did 3.8k myself last week but speed is still yet to come and with a 1:22 best (IM Wales) 1:35 wasn't to disappointing
cycled to park run saturday, shinny new PB (25:25) (oh to be as quick as Tired Badger) cycled home, then found out pool was closed for County champoinship, so Mrs SA desides that "we" should do her long run on Saturday so ground out an 11 miler. Bike on Sunday was nice 35 miles, 6 mile recovery on Monday, last night was 30mins turbo and 20 mins treadmill, 8 mile run tonight.
Ran for an hour yesterday then a great hour's swim with NEWT. Now time to jump on turbo and then a brick run afterwards to a) muddy up these shiny new trail shoes and b) run the dog around the woods.

That's both bad ass and gross at the same time.
