  • No she has that in her bike bottles !

  • I guess single malt is scotch? I live in the land of Kentucky bourbon and from the various producers here I've heard that we often ship the bourbon barrels over your way to make scotch.  I can't say I have any experience with scotch though.  Well, except for very cheap and very bad stuff when I was in college.

  • Well done Lucas.  I would say 3 more weeks and its covered.

  • Them's fightin' words! (I've got some lovely Four Roses Small Batch for later).

  • I know who my money would be on!! image

  • image Never mess with a scot where single malt is involved. Yank you need to do a race this side of the pond so we can get you a little drunk?

  • Kentuckians feel the same way about bourbon image

i just remembered that I had some Johnny Walker Blue last year.  Quite tasty.

I'd planned to be visiting around Christmas time but my wife quit her job out of the blue putting a stop to that.  She has a new one but took a big salary hit.

  • I do like a bit of Knob Creek (not a euphemism).

74 mile bike today, a lovely ride to Brecon and back.  Bit achy and tired now, but pleased.

  • Whisky? I'll take you all on. Ootside, strip to the waist and fight like men!

    Good biking Tim.

I've had my best biking day ever.  91.65 miles in 6hrs 10mins.  It sorted out a couple of things for me.  Firstly, nutrition - I've been struggling a bit on rides lately and feeling sugar-overloaded image .  So I made some savoury flapjack yesterday and it worked a treat.  I just alternated my sweet and savoury snacks - job done.  Secondly, my heid - I made myself take time to settle into the ride, and let my legs warm up and find their rhythm. I also stopped looking at how slowly I was going uphill and instead concentrated on finding a comfortable gear to get me up the hill, and made the most of the downs and flats.  Really, really enjoyed the ride and I can't tell you what a confidence boost it's been.

Another bonus was that my hip started complaining loudly at about mile 12, so I moved position a lot and did some stretches in the saddle. It settled and didn't bother me for the rest of the ride.

The run ain't going to be pretty, but such is life!

Off to the pub for a meal with the girlies tonight. I feel a steak coming on.

  • Nice riding Nursey!  Enjoy your steak.  Well-earned.

  • Nice riding Tim and Nursey!

Saw the physio again today and told not to run for another 2 weeks. The run part of my Ironman is going to be interesting in 5 weeks... the furthest I've ever run is 14 miles!

  • Nice one Nursey ...  I told you it'd all come good   image

Budgie, most of my IM runs have been done off the back of just that, no need (IMO) to go further in training

  • Hello. image

    Thought I'd pop in. *waves*

  • Oh hello   image

Can we get you anything??  image

  • I'm sure I'll think of something... Oh yes. Swim ability please image

  • Congrates to your daughetr SD. Well done.

  • Afternoon team and a happy sunday to you all

I shoehorned in a swift (for me) 4 miles after the 'oss and before work

  • Well done to your daughter SD!

Rode my furthest distance since my half Ironman this morning. The physio seems to be doing his job well, I could barley feel anything wrong with my knee - good times!

  • Weekly update. Back on it.

    Good news Budgie!

  • Well done Budgie!
