Welllllllllllll ..... Mum of two strapping lads and married to a dedicated push-biker. Used to do triathlon several years ago when my boys were tiddy-widdy. Never trained properly and was always told if I ever traineor insistently I'd be quite dangerous as mentally I'm clearly off my rockers and in need of medication. Am now in need of next challenge and really fancy a full ironman and ultra but am a bit scaredy-cat of actually stepping up to the mark as I have yet to stick to or complete a proper training schedule for anything and realise that I probnobly need to be a bit more 'realistic and consistent' in my training to get there. Bit pansy wet girls shirt just plain scared too ..... Why? Cos I HATE being physically sick!!!! Sad but true ...... Anywayhoooo.....
....... Sooooooo I think it's my turn now to hanker after a stooooopidly expensive bike, spend hours cycling and ......
Honest reason, I thiNk like most women, I REALLY NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT.... Ideally about 3 stone, realistically if I can shift 2 yippeeeee ..... Bearing in mind my 'baby' is going to be 10 next month I can no longer say 'oh it's just baby weight' anymore.... And honestly, doing triathlon before I was the fittest, slimmest and healthiest I'd been since rowing at university.
So, here we are again only this time it's a HIM maybe a full IM, maybe a 50miler and even a dream of UTDMB one day.
Ive been laughing out loud at the forum posts for years whilst lurking and have finally plunged in to join in the fun and banter.
back from a few days in Cornwall with the boys, and did bugger all training apart form re-fuelling - though having said that it was blowing a right old hoolie a lot of the time so walking the hound on the beach was extra hard work. I did take may kettlebell with me and did workout with it (once), but the trainers and run kit never made it out of my bag
Inset day tomorrow, but my boys go back to ttheir school, so I have an extra day to myself and I may, just may get the bike out of the garage
nice to see our Gassy friend becoming the poster boy for Challenge Weymouth then
I have swum on Monday and ran 5 miles today *sticks tongue out at Meldy*
Khanivore, get the dates of Lanza and Bolton and find the thread pages around that time. The reports will be in there somewhere and you won't need to read every single page.

Hi JellyB
Today I have turboed with Chrissie. Tonight I have been singing for my supper
Thanks Challenge - will try that.
Hmmm, Nurse - not sure I really understand, but good luck with your marathon by the way!!
Have aerobic bike booked for Tuesday, but started on weights this evening - high reps, lower weights to try and build some core strength.
Oh JB, there are lots of strange and wonderful things* on this thread that no-one understands
Welcome
*mainly us lot
Don't know what happened with all that empty space there
That's ok then - as long as everybody is the same boat, that works for me..
#justsaying
You know M...eldy doesn't need a boat, she just floats like all witches
Welcome JB! When and where is your first Ironman going to be?
I'm new too ..... doing HIM Vitruvian in August next year. Need all the help I can get. pig x
Hi flyingpig
You'll get lots of help and advice here. Some of it might even be useful
Do tell us a bit about yourself, and how you ended up in this mess!

That just about sums it up.
Piggy. X
Hi Piggy and welcome to the madhouse
back from a few days in Cornwall with the boys, and did bugger all training apart form re-fuelling - though having said that it was blowing a right old hoolie a lot of the time so walking the hound on the beach was extra hard work. Great introduction Piggy. You do realise you've just committed to doing an ironman?
Frag - howdy burd! Sounds like a good break. They're putting Gas on a poster? Don't they want people to enter?
No training for me today, just leaf raking and lots of slash-and-burn gardening
it was a bloody busy break Nursey - I could do with another half term to get over it
am now just about over my post-driving headache, in time for a nice glass of vino
I was poster boy for the Reading Tri and people still entered - honest!! Mind you if they put Gas on one, it'll have to be a big poster
Unless they're coming from a,"Come on, anybody can do it" angle
Run away flyingping, run away !!
Dam it the pig legged it before gastank could explain baconlube?
Baconlube - official sponsors of Fatman to Ironman. And I've got the e-mail to prove it.
I've been away from the forum for ages and now the thread is too long for me to find what I want to know
Did Rafiki and Sausage Dog do their IM's? How did they do? Can anyone link me to race reports?
Yes and probably not ... NEXT
Welcome to the piglet, yes, you have likely signed up to an IM just by being here
I havent done a lot this week and need to either rectify that or just forget the week and start a new one
I do have 2 new tyres on my car tho
I have swum on Monday and ran 5 miles today *sticks tongue out at Meldy*

Khanivore - mine is half way down this page, and Meldy's is a few pages later:

Squeezed in a quick 1k swim at lunchtime. I'm learning how to do tumble turns, just for a bit of a giggle. 't ain't pretty
Ran 5 miles just so I could :-P at Nursey
which clearly didnt work !
