NO, I DO NOT HAVE A LONDON MARATHON "TICKET" FOR SALE

I've just had the third person send me a private message asking whether I still had a spare ticket for this year's London Marathon.

Er...

This came up because I attempted a witty yet facetious comment in yet another of those really crap threads asking whether someone was willing to transfer their entry.  My reply indicated that not only did I have a spare "ticket" for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon, but I also had a spare "Golden Ticket" that would get you into Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory.

<Hammers knuckles on imaginary thick skull>... WAS THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY BIT NOT ENOUGH OF A CLUE THAT I WASN'T BEING SERIOUS??

FFS!  Actually, in all seriousness... the London Marathon ticket has now been sold, but I'm willing to part with the "Golden Ticket" for Willy Wonka's chocolate factory for £150.  I did list it on ebay, but it was reported for some reason.

Keep the ticket.  But can I have a piggy back from the start?

Or swap you my finishing time with yours?

  • Anyone got a spare ticket for Sunday. ?

How far is a marathon again ?

You've been watching too many films, Seren.  I'm talking about the real Willy Wonka.  God, you runners are sooo gullible!

I'll give you 10 bob and a pair of skimpy blue shorts to match the orange ones.
  • Willy Wonka   !!

Sorry just too many jokes head about to explode !

  • Never mind, it'll all be over soon.

Well, except for the "my Garmin says I ran 27.3 miles - the course must be wrong..." and "when does the ballot for 2013 open...." and "the ballot is sooooo unfair" threads image

I thought Johnny Depp was scary in that film image

    They can, but console yourself.

Its unlikely that they exercise that right.

  • True! image
  • are you telling me that Mr Depp will not be at the chocolate factory...........then he must be at the marathon...good job i already have a ticket for that one......i expect he will waiting at Mile 17 for me.

BTW, anyone still using gels to get them round the marathon is missing a trick.  The never-ending gobstopper is the gift that keeps on giving.

    I thought that too.

I get annoyed that people call it a "ticket" but that's a personal preference....

If Mr Depp turns up at Mile 17 then he'll be in no fit state for you when you get there, I'll have worn him out  image
  • What's this? If you run the London Marathon you can win Johnny Depp covered in chocolate?

Is there an option to just have the chocolate? (YES I AM GETTING OLD!)

  • Johnny Depp's going to be at Mudchute? Oh happy days image

  • PhilPubPhilPub ✭✭✭

    Chocolate... Mudchute.

Me too. I think he was channelling Michael Jackson.

If JD is at Mile 17 he won't remain there for long, and neither will certain members of the Support Crew image

"Never ending Gobstopper" - is that a euphemism? image

  • But one of the support crews is as gorgeous as JD.......image
