Testicles ouch!

I usually run 3-4 times a week - covering 4-6 miles per run.

Last night I decided to push on a bit and covered 10 miles. I feel great BUT my balls ache so much. I wear standard baggy shorts - do I need to upgrade to lycra or similar?

thanks

Get some lycra undercrackers.  They'll keep yer plums in place.
  • undercrackers!!!!! sounds like a firework!

or just lycra running shorts on their own - they'll keep the wee fellas snug and settled comfortably.

failing that, try an elastic band
  • lycra and vaseline on them for the longer runs!  Once I ran in simming trunks with the net inside and had a lovly net shaped chafe on my krackers!  Painfull, but funny!

Are they aching from bouncing or stinging from chafing? Either way you need either tight lycra (if you don't mind showing whether you're a cavalier or a roundhead) or a pair of running shorts with a proper liner. If it's chafing then a good dab of the ole vaseline on the chaps in advance is also recommended.

The laydees are slow this morning ...

  • Just don't go too tight on the elastic band - or they'll drop off like Lambs tails.
  • Its a definite ache

if it's an ache they need support - follow the advice given

or perhaps you need to "unload" before going for a run..... image

    This thread is b****cks

  • maybe a case of the old blue balls!

chaffed my knackers once and it is bloody painful, and when doing long runs now always give them a good covering of vaseline. ran manchester marathon on sunday and balls not chaffed but first time ever chaffed the old john thomas himself. painful but back in full working order now

interesting thread this, if nothing else it made me laugh

  • My old dad always said, if we complained that something hurt,
"well, I can always chop it off for you!" Do you want me to sharpen my fileting knife and elastic bands
  • elastic bands & surgical removal were not the advise I was hoping for!! however fat buddhas suggestion of 'unloading' before a run does have a lot of potential image

  • Superglue. One to each thigh. Sorted.
  • What are you wearing under the shorts? I assume boxers.

I'm a briefs man, and they usually keep everything snug and secure.
