Hip Pain

I've recently developed a pain in my hip just on and above the hip bone itself. Its painful to the touch. Running on it is like having a knitting needle shoved into the area . Walking is only slightly less painful.

Do i ice it, heat rub or just let nature take its course?

Any help greatly appreciated.
