beginners 10k training

hi i started training for a 5k run about 6 weeks ago was 14st 8lb now now 13st 9lb. Hadnt run for 4 years and started with the walk run programme and can now do 40 mins non stop, did think I had stepped up too quickly but my body is not telling me otherwise so doing really well. Havent done timed run yet but guessing cant be far off 10 min mile have now bypassed 5k run and gone straight into 10k training. Hoping to get down to about 12st 7lb so I can run a decent time when I do race. Think the key is consistency in how many times a week you train. I have young children and sometimes dont get much sleep but drag yourself out there it will pay dividends sooner or later
