Yes i know its late but i am on holiday, I dont sleep much and I have just watched some programme on iplayer about Regency Britain. So im wierd, sue me?
Look at this photo from the Comrades Marathon 2011. Thats the sort of runner I aspire to be. I want that neck scarf and that 1000 yard stare. The man must be pushing the big 50 yet he looks like he will smoke you in a race.
Anyone done this race. How hard is it?

Did it this year, yes it's a little tricky but whole heartedly recommended. 2013 Comrades thread.

i used to live in SA and can say that comrades appeared to be wholly satisfying to those who ran, and contagious.
and yes, many of the runners seemed to have a steely, yet calm demeanour, which is probably just what one needs!
and bless your heart, stephen e forde " . . must be pushing the big 50 . . "
many many push higher numbers than that and are still going strong.
Stephen if you can run a marathon in 5 hours, you'll have a reasonable chance of finishing within the cut-off.
